Ensuring stable power supply on the occasion of National Day September 2 in the Southern provinces

This year's National Day holiday starts from September 1 to September 4, 2023, right during the holiday is the opening of the new school year 2023-2024 taking place simultaneously across the country. Therefore, EVNSPC requires power companies located in the southern provinces/cities to pay special attention to the task of supplying electricity for the above events.

Specifically, EVNSPC requires power units to develop and implement plans to ensure safe and continuous power supply to serve production, daily life and entertainment of people in the southern provinces, especially during the National Day holiday on September 2, as well as the opening of the new school year 2023-2024.

Mr. Lam Xuan Tuan - Deputy General Director of EVNSPC said that EVNSPC directed power units, in addition to making and implementing plans and solutions to ensure power supply, to also perform the task of ensuring security, safety and fire prevention for power grid projects; coordinate with local authorities, police and military to develop and deploy plans to protect security, order, safety and fire prevention for power projects, agency headquarters and warehouses; based on the specific situation in the locality, arrange to increase security forces, self-defense forces and youth volunteers on duty during the holidays.

Mr. Tuan also added that power companies absolutely do not stop supplying electricity or cause power outages to customers except in cases of troubleshooting or force majeure. In addition, units also increase leadership and 24/7 power repair operations during holidays; fully prepare materials, equipment, communication systems and means of transport, ready to quickly handle any problems that arise.

In addition, EVNSPC also directed the District/County/Town/City Power Companies to proactively work with local authorities to grasp the time, location, and areas that need to ensure stable power supply to serve key opening ceremonies and programs and to perform well in business and customer service; arrange backup diesel generators, check and strengthen the power grid to ensure safe and stable electricity at important locations and areas, where major political and cultural activities take place in the provinces/cities in the Southern region.

Regarding the grid operation plan, units proactively separate unnecessary medium-voltage grid compensation capacitors, ensuring that the medium-voltage grid is not overcompensated, causing reactive power to be transmitted back from the distribution grid to the transmission grid.

For telecommunications systems, information technology used exclusively from EVNSPC to power units, the unit arranges a force on duty to operate the network system/programs serving power supply operations/customer management - shared data, ensuring that the computer network system, communications... operate stably and continuously 24/7.

The electricity industry absolutely does not stop supplying electricity or cause power outages to customers during holidays, except in cases of troubleshooting or force majeure.

In case of an incident on the 110kV grid, or a serious incident on the 22kV distribution grid, the shift dispatcher at the units must immediately notify the information to the leaders of the Power Company to report to EVNSPC to grasp the situation and direct handling.
