Staging a robbery of a motorbike from a technology car driver

On August 4, District 3 Police (HCMC) are detaining Nguyen Duc Thien (19 years old), Tran Duc Huy (18 years old, all residing in Tan Binh District) and Vo Tri Tai (16 years old, residing in Binh Tan District) to investigate the crime of "robbery".

According to the investigation, on the afternoon of July 23, Thien, Tai, and Huy took a ride-hailing car to Vinh Loc residential area (Binh Chanh District) to find a friend but could not find him, then went to a coffee shop in Tan Phu District. There, the three discussed finding a ride-hailing driver to rob his motorbike and property.

After finishing the discussion, the group continued to take a technology car to a coffee shop on Truong Sa Street (District 3). Here, Huy walked around to investigate, finding a convenient location in an alley on Tran Van Dang Street (Ward 11, District 3) to ambush and rob.

After that, Huy and Tai went to the chosen location, Thien sat at the shop to order a motorbike taxi. About 10 minutes later, Mr. LVĐ (56 years old, living in Tan Binh District), a motorbike taxi driver, arrived. Thien asked Mr. Đ. to take him to the alley on Tran Van Dang Street where his accomplices were waiting.

Planned an 'ambush' scenario in the alley and then boldly stole the car

When they reached the alley, Thien got out of the car, Tai approached Mr. D. pretending to ask for the price, while Huy pulled out a knife and held it to Mr. D.'s neck. The motorbike taxi driver struggled with Huy and fell to the ground. Thien then climbed onto the victim's motorbike, Tai and Huy jumped on one after another, and all three escaped from the scene. On the way, Tai deleted the ride-hailing app on his phone.

The three stopped at a coffee shop in Binh Duong . Huy took the victim's phone from the car he had just robbed and brought it to the store to sell for 200,000 VND.

At around 3:30 p.m. on July 24, when Thien, Tai, and Huy used a motorbike to rob Mr. D. to return to the shop in Tan Phu District, they were arrested by the District 3 Police. At the police station, all three initially confessed to their actions.

The case of a motorbike robbery of a technology car driver is being investigated and handled by the police.
