The 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the 2025-2030 term is a significant event, marking an important turning point for the diplomatic sector in the context of the country entering a new era - the era of national development as General Secretary To Lam affirmed. The Congress is an opportunity to summarize and evaluate the achievements and valuable lessons from the previous term and is also a forum to determine the direction, goals, tasks and strategic solutions for the coming term.

Following the direction of General Secretary To Lam on "innovating management methods", the Congress will orient the diplomatic sector to carry out a revolution in restructuring the apparatus in the direction of "Refined - Compact - Strong - Effective - Efficient - Effective - Efficient".

The Party Committee successfully organized Congresses at all levels in April 2025 and the Party Congress in the United States for the 2025-2030 term on May 24.

The Party Committee has strived to overcome many difficulties and challenges, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, maintaining solidarity and promoting collective strength. At the same time, the Party Committee has successfully completed its foreign affairs tasks, contributing to establishing and developing the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Currently, the Party Committee is continuing to raise political awareness, sense of responsibility, proactively innovate leadership methods, actively participate in a series of political activities at all levels towards the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Looking to the future, the Party Committee in the United States is determined to study and thoroughly grasp the Resolution of the Party Committee of the Ministry and the 14th National Party Congress, while striving to proactively propose new initiatives and solutions in line with the double-digit growth target for the 2026-2030 period set by General Secretary To Lam. In addition, building a team of diplomatic staff with courage, intelligence, and creativity to meet the requirements of tasks in the era of digital transformation and strong globalization will also be a consistent focus.

In the context of increasingly fierce US-China competition and the Trump administration's "America First" policy 2.0 creating both opportunities and challenges, on the basis of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Party Committee in the United States determines to prioritize strengthening trust, expanding substantive cooperation with the United States to protect national interests, contributing to maintaining the momentum of the relationship, making substantive and sustainable contributions and creating a solid premise for the development of bilateral relations in the coming years.
