On November 2 (ie September 19 of the lunar calendar), at the Temple of the Celebrity Luong Van Chanh in Long Phung village, Hoa Tri commune, Phu Hoa district, the Executive Committee of the Luong family in Phu Yen province held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 412th anniversary of the death of Phu Nghia Hau - Phu Quan Cong Luong Van Chanh (1611-2023).

The famous Luong Van Chanh was born around the 40s of the 16th century in Thanh Hoa . He was an official under the Le Trung Hung dynasty, holding the position of Commander-in-Chief, with the title of Phu Nghia Hau. In 1558, Luong Van Chanh followed Nguyen Hoang to Thuan Hoa. Here, he made many contributions to helping Lord Nguyen expand the Thuan - Quang region.
In 1578, Lord Nguyen Hoang sent Luong Van Chanh to lead troops to stabilize the land from Cu Mong Pass to Ca Pass. Due to his great achievements, he was specially promoted to the position of General of the National Assembly with the task of managing Tuy Vien district, An Bien town in present-day Binh Dinh province. In 1597, Lord Nguyen Hoang continued to assign Luong Van Chanh the task of leading people to reclaim the lands of Cu Mong, Ba Dai (Xuan Dai), Ba Dien (Da Dien), and Ba Nong (Da Nong). This was the basis for Lord Nguyen to establish Phu Yen prefecture in 1611, including Dong Xuan and Tuy Hoa districts.
After Luong Van Chanh passed away on September 19, Tan Hoi year (1611) in Phung Tuong village, Hoa Tri commune, he was honored by the local people as a tutelary god and a temple was built to commemorate his great contributions to Phu Yen land. The tomb and temple of Luong Van Chanh were recognized as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1996.
