'The Party in the Great Spring Victory' with the voices of Thu Hien, Trung Duc, Quang Tho

Legendary red music singers Thu Hien, Trung Duc, Quang Tho and young singers will sing revolutionary songs with the Sun Symphony Orchestra, bringing 'a cinematic experience' to the audience.

That is the special art program Party in the great spring victory will take place at 8pm on April 28, at Ho Guom Theater ( Hanoi ) and broadcast live on VTV1 channel.

The program is organized by the Ministry of Public Security to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), and at the same time, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the People's Public Security sector (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).

Previously, the Party in the Great Spring Victory had moved the audience in Da Nang at the end of March. The program at Ho Guom Theater also included the same artists, but the program had many changes.

With revolutionary music combined with a symphony orchestra, the program recreates the heroic spirit of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign and the Great Victory of Spring 1975.

Golden voices who have been deeply attached to Vietnamese revolutionary music such as People's Artist Quang Tho, Thu Hien, and Trung Duc will reunite with the audience with songs that have accompanied the years and are associated with the artists' names.

There are also outstanding revolutionary lyrical singers such as Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Vu Thang Loi, Lan Anh, Le Anh Dung, Viet Danh...

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online, conductor Olivier Ochanine said that Vietnamese revolutionary music carries within it historical depth and intense emotions.

These songs were composed during difficult times for the nation, and that spirit was clearly conveyed through each melody.

As a conductor, what has always fascinated Olivier Ochanine is the ability of music to tell stories – not just through lyrics, but also through structure, harmony and rhythm.

Vietnamese revolutionary music interested the conductor in that way.

"Although the musical language of these works is different from that of Western symphonies, it is this contrast that creates a special power when performed in a concert space.

They open a unique window into Vietnam's cultural and historical identity," said conductor Olivier Ochanine.

According to him, when Vietnamese singers sing these revolutionary songs with a symphony orchestra, it is a subtle blend of intimacy, simplicity and magnificence and splendor.

The orchestral sound adds rich depth and nuance, breathing new life into songs that many audiences grew up with, but that singers would previously have sung alongside simpler accompaniment.
