Comprehensive assessment of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia solidarity in history and present

On the morning of June 14, the Ministry of National Defense organized the first national scientific conference on the topic "Solidarity of the three countries Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia" chaired by General, Dr. Phan Van Giang, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy head of the topic chaired the conference.

The Organizing Committee received 30 presentations from generals, experts, and scientists in the country. The presentations were carefully prepared, of high quality, and presented many arguments, evidence, viewpoints, assessments, and in-depth, objective, and comprehensive analysis of the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia in history and at present, serving as a basis for the Steering Committee to research and compile the topic.

At the workshop, delegates analyzed and clarified basic issues of theory and historical practice in the process of building and developing the spirit of solidarity between Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia in the periods: 1930-1945, 1945-1954, 1954-1975, proposed practical solutions to strengthen solidarity, maintain traditional relations between the three nations and the three countries' armies, maintain a peaceful , stable and sustainable development environment in the new situation.

Speaking at the workshop, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong highly appreciated the effective coordination of central departments, ministries, branches, relevant agencies and units, and the dedicated and valuable contributions and opinions of leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, generals, experts, scientists, agencies and units under General Department II, and the Academy of Military Science, which contributed significantly to the success of the workshop.

The Chief of the General Staff requested the Project Management Board to fully absorb the opinions of leaders, generals, experts and scientists; focus on analyzing and evaluating more deeply and comprehensively the position, role and basis for the formation of the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia relationship in history; the current state of the relationship between the three nations, the three governments and the three armies and the factors affecting the relationship between the three countries in the new context; on that basis, propose feasible solutions to continue to consolidate and strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the three nations. In addition, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the unit in charge of implementing the project to continue to closely coordinate with relevant agencies to deploy the next research tasks on schedule, ensuring quality.
