Vietnamese cinema's mark at Busan Film Festival

After this success at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), VFDA hopes that Vietnam will become an attractive destination for cinema lovers, opening up many opportunities for cooperation with domestic and international filmmakers.

Within the framework of the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF, held from October 2 to October 11 in Busan, Korea), VFDA coordinated with partners to successfully organize a series of activities to promote the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) and promote filming locations in Vietnam, especially in 4 provinces and cities: Da Nang, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh and Phu Yen .

Opportunity for domestic and international producers and directors to cooperate in making films

The events include: attending the opening ceremony of Busan Film Festival, opening of the Vietnam - DANAFF booth at the Asian Film and Content Market (ACFM) from October 5 to October 8, visiting the largest film set and studio in Busan; working sessions with Busan Mayor Park Heong-Joo, Mr. Han Sang Jun - Chairman of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Mr. Joh Gunshik - CEO of the Korean Academy of Film Arts, Chairman of Busan Film Center and Busan Film Committee; seminar "Introducing DANAFF Film Festival and filmmaking environment in some provinces and cities of Vietnam"; Viet Nam Night - gathering and connecting more than 600 guests who are film producers, actors, directors from Korea and abroad.

Mr. Jeremy Segay - Regional Audiovisual Attaché, French Embassy in Vietnam shared that the Vietnam Night event was impressive, the pinnacle of the unprecedented presence of Vietnamese cinema at the Busan Film Festival and the Asian Film and Content Market in Busan. This year, Vietnam had more than 5 booths at the Film Market and all visitors to the fair saw that Vietnam has stepped up the promotion of provinces and cities as filming locations as well as domestic film sales internationally. Vietnam's events have made a strong impression.
