To meet the demand for passenger and cargo transportation from Ho Chi Minh City, ports to Long Thanh airport, Dong Nai will upgrade and expand two important provincial routes 25B and 25C.
These are key traffic projects expected to share traffic pressure on existing highways and provincial roads.
Roads 25B and 25C play a vital role, connecting areas such as Cat Lai, Nhon Trach, National Highway 51 to Long Thanh Airport. At the same time, these two routes also support traffic towards Ba Ria - Vung Tau .
According to the Dong Nai Traffic Construction Project Management Board, both routes intersect with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, creating favorable conditions for traffic to Long Thanh airport.
Highway 25B connecting to Highway 51 is currently overloaded.
Of which, Provincial Road 25B is over 9.2km long, passing through Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts. The project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND.
According to Nhon Trach district leaders, the locality has cleared about 80% of the land. For the remaining area, leaders of Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts committed to completing the site clearance and handing it over to the construction unit on schedule.
Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board, said that this project is inviting bids and is expected to start construction at the end of December 2024.
The project to upgrade and expand provincial road 25C will build a new road of more than 2km long with a total investment of more than 647 billion VND. The Project Management Board is also speeding up related procedures in coordination with the locality.
