This year, continuing the tradition of many years, the Indian Business Association in Hanoi organizes Diwali Night 2024, wishing to convey the colorful and joyful atmosphere of one of the biggest festivals of the Indian community and especially, Diwali Night 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of INCHAM Hanoi.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya welcomed the leaders and distinguished guests to the Diwali Night 2024 event. The festival of lights Diwali is an important event of the year for Indians, symbolizing goodness and prosperity, attracting goodness and optimism throughout the year. Diwali is also the festival that opens a new year full of hope and prosperity.

Over the past time, Vietnam and India have had an effective and strong cooperative relationship. The two countries have together promoted culture, tourism, economy, and spread the image of the country to friends across the country. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya commented that the coming time will be an ideal time for new cooperation opportunities with many promotional activities, advertising, attracting international tourists to visit and experience India.

On this occasion, Ambassador Sandeep Ary also called for Vietnam's participation in India's global greening campaign by early 2025, together fighting against greenhouse gas emissions and climate change.

At the same time, the Ambassador invited Vietnamese people to come and travel to India with their families and friends to explore the "cradle" of Buddhism, to better understand and directly admire the land and people of India.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said that Diwali Night in Vietnam has great significance not only for the increasingly strong development of Vietnam - India tourism cooperation in recent times but also for the development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Diwali Night represents the vibrant culture of India, showing the world the beauty of an Asian country. The friendliness of the Indian people has contributed to shortening the geographical distance with Vietnam, creating a solid foundation of solidarity and mutual respect.

Director Nguyen Trung Khanh said that India is a country with a long-standing, multi-religious, multi-ethnic culture that is still preserved and maintained, the famous heritage of the "Indus River civilization", the sacred origin of the Buddha land through places such as the Ganges River, Lumbini Holy Garden. The Diwali festival honors the important role of light in human life, is the embodiment of wisdom and hope, honors harmony, prosperity and humanity.

Vietnam and India have long had a close relationship, enhanced tourism cooperation, and promoted cultural and tourism cooperation programs between the two sides. By organizing the Diwali Festival in Vietnam, Vietnam is committed to preserving heritage and promoting diverse beauty to the world. The event also carries the value of sharing, goodwill and love of Vietnam for India.

Art performances at Diwali Night Festival 2024

At Diwali Night, delegates and guests experienced the sparkling space of lights and many activities imbued with Indian cultural identity, including indigenous Indian dances, traditional Indian specialties, Henna tattooing and face painting, etc. Especially, at this year's event, attendees enjoyed a unique performance from Eka band - one of India's leading Rock bands./.
