On the afternoon of December 1, at the headquarters at 71 Hang Trong, the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union held the 27th Congress of Delegates of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term with the participation of 148 delegates.
Attending the congress were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union Pham Quang Huong.
Speaking at the congress, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh highly appreciated the past term, the Executive Committee of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union created working conditions, gradually invested in improving material and spiritual conditions, helping cadres, civil servants and workers feel secure in their work, and excellently complete assigned tasks.
Especially, innovation and creativity in content and organization form, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, strengthening solidarity and cohesion between union members of Nhan Dan Newspaper and union members from Nhan Dan Television and Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper during the recent merger period.
In addition, the emulation movements launched by the Trade Union strongly aroused the spirit of innovation and creativity throughout the agency; coordinated with specialized units to widely deploy the movement "Each reporter has an initiative, each department has an innovative topic", associated with the movements "The whole country competes in innovation, digital transformation" and "Applying digital technology and artificial intelligence to work better".
Thereby, many initiatives and technological solutions have been effectively applied in the press production and publishing process, contributing to improving productivity and work efficiency, expanding reader access, and enhancing digital capacity for staff, reporters, and editors.
The Editor-in-Chief especially emphasized the bright spot in the activities of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union during the past term, which was social security and volunteer work, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love and responsibility to the community.
Notable examples include: donating dozens of gratitude houses in the provinces of Lam Dong, Can Tho, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa; giving gifts to poor students who have overcome difficulties in Na Hang district (formerly) of Tuyen Quang province; mobilizing cadres and workers to support people affected by natural disasters, storms and floods... with a total amount of more than 10 billion VND, along with many other social activities towards disadvantaged localities.
In the new term, comrade Le Quoc Minh requested the Executive Committee of Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union to make more efforts to ensure the lives of cadres, civil servants and workers; continue to innovate methods of mobilizing union members, focusing on practical interests; strengthen representation and protection of rights; take good care of the material and spiritual lives of union members through effective and humane activities; strongly promote digital transformation in units, especially printing houses.
In his speech directing the Congress, comrade Pham Quang Huong said: Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union is a central industry trade union under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a 78-year tradition. In implementing the reorganization and apparatus, Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union has received many units from the Vietnam Civil Servants Trade Union, including the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union affirmed: The Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union is one of the strong units, actively and proactively participating and responding to movements and activities organized by the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union.
At the Ceremony to honor outstanding workers and commend outstanding union officials with the theme Journey of Aspiration 2025, the Newspaper Union had two outstanding union officials and four outstanding workers honored and commended.
At the Patriotic Emulation Movement Summary Ceremony, at the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union for the period 2020-2025, the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union and two individuals were recognized as advanced models.
Along with that, every year, the People's Newspaper Trade Union is evaluated and classified by the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union as having excellently completed its tasks, and is awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag and Certificates of Merit by the Trade Unions at all levels for many collectives and individuals who receive certificates of merit from the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union.
The above results are vivid evidence of the tradition of solidarity, responsibility, spirit of innovation and aspiration for dedication of the Executive Committee as well as all cadres, civil servants, union members and workers of Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Entering a new term, our country is entering a period of accelerated development on the basis of digital economy, green transformation and deep international integration. The Party and State have set new requirements for civil servants, public employees and workers in the science and technology sector: professionalism, creativity, quick adaptation and efficiency.
In that context, comrade Pham Quang Huong requested that the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union continue to perform well its role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers;
Coordinate with professional organizations to organize training and coaching to improve professional qualifications and vocational skills for union members and workers, meeting the requirements of building a new production force.
Building a team of union officials with capacity, courage and prestige, meeting the requirements of innovation and creativity of the union organization in the digital age. The Executive Committee of the Newspaper Union must truly be the center of solidarity, the voice of the workers.
In the context that the whole country is focusing on implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo, with the position of a strong unit with a rich tradition in the journalism industry, comrade Pham Quang Huong suggested that the Nhan Dan Newspaper Trade Union should proactively implement a program of innovation and comprehensive digital transformation in trade union activities;
Continue to widely deploy the movement "Each reporter has an initiative, each department has an innovative topic", associated with focusing on promoting the movement "Competition for innovation and digital transformation", the movement "Digital education for the masses", the movement "Digital transformation for better work", creating an environment for each union member to promote their capacity and intelligence, contributing to accompanying the profession, building modern, productive and creative agencies and units.
With a high sense of responsibility and the spirit of "Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Innovation-Development", the Congress elected 11 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term; elected delegates to attend the Congress of the Trade Union at a higher level...
