General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army November meeting

General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army chaired the conference.

Also attending were Deputy Directors of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army: Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Party Secretary of the General Department of Politics; Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To; Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, along with heads of departments, units, and representatives of functional agencies of the General Department of Politics.

Appreciating the maturity of the staff of agencies and units in the entire General Department, General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the image of the officers and soldiers of the General Department of Politics is increasingly shining through press, cultural, literary and artistic awards, as well as through the results of implementing political tasks in all fields.

General Nguyen Trong Nghia chaired the conference.

General Nguyen Trong Nghia noted the need to strongly innovate the meeting regime, implement "paperless" meetings, improve the quality of research before attending meetings, make concise and to-the-point statements, and increase efficiency.

The report at the conference said that in November 2025, in the context of the world and regional situation continuing to develop complicatedly; many important political events taking place in the country, the entire army still maintained stability, successfully completed the tasks of combat readiness, training, rescue, and summarizing all aspects of work.

Party and political work activities were carried out comprehensively and in depth. The entire army situation was stable; officers and soldiers had strong political will and a high sense of responsibility. In particular, officers and soldiers of the Army did not hesitate to face difficulties and hardships, actively participated in helping and accompanying the people to overcome the historic flood in the central region, deeply spreading the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers; strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State and the Army; continuing to affirm the role and function of the heroic Vietnam People's Army as a working army and a fighting army in peacetime.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the contents that needed to be clarified in the November report, supplementing a number of issues in the fields of propaganda, mass mobilization, culture and arts, security protection, organization and personnel work; and at the same time, proposing solutions to improve the quality of task implementation in December.

In his concluding remarks, General Nguyen Trong Nghia especially emphasized the need to focus on strategic thinking, clearly identify key tasks, proactively implement contents related to the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress of the Army and the contents identified in the Documents of the 14th Party Congress; required officers and soldiers of the entire army to firmly grasp and deeply practice the values of Uncle Ho's soldiers, along with the contents of "2 steadfastness, 2 promotion and 2 prevention" that General Secretary To Lam spoke at the 12th Party Congress of the Army, considering this as the core criterion in inspection, assessment and training.

Regarding the fields of organization, mass mobilization, policy and force building, General Nguyen Trong Nghia agreed with the contents of the report; at the same time, requested a comprehensive review of the implementation of the action program of the 12th Party Congress of the Army, the strategic resolutions of the Central Military Commission and new requirements in the context of adjusting the organization of the local government apparatus, the requirement of high combat readiness and many foreign affairs and science and technology tasks of the Army.

The Chief of the General Department of Politics highly appreciated the efforts of the agencies in handling and advising on many important issues such as defense diplomacy; participating in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, preparing for the Central Military Commission conference, summarizing the emulation movement, participating in law-making and reforming the force organization. At the same time, he emphasized the need to continue improving the quality of internal political protection work and preventing disciplinary violations.

December and early 2026 are particularly important periods. General Nguyen Trong Nghia requested the General Department of Politics to promote its core, exemplary role, taking the lead in propaganda and political and ideological education, maintaining military discipline and resolutely implementing tasks serving the 14th Party Congress and the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly. This is both a key political task and an environment to demonstrate the mettle, prestige and exemplary image of soldiers in the new period.

General Nguyen Trong Nghia awarded Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, Certificates of Merit from the Minister of National Defense and Certificates of Merit from the Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
