Xuan Van Commune is one of the localities that actively encourages farmers to participate in vocational training. From these classes, many households have boldly changed their crop structure, earning hundreds of millions of VND each year. Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, Khuon Thong village, participated in a citrus growing training class organized by the Vocational Training and Farmer Support Center in coordination with the Commune Farmers' Association in 2018. He said: "After 3 months of studying, I have learned to apply modern techniques such as using biological pesticides, drip irrigation, preserving fruit after harvest and branding the product." Thanks to that, his family's 6-hectare grapefruit garden currently earns about 700 million VND each year.
In Quan Ba commune, vocational training and job placement are carried out regularly. Every year, hundreds of workers from poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households are supported in vocational training and job placement in and outside the province. Comrade Do Quang Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quan Ba commune, said: "Vocational training and job placement have made an important contribution to poverty reduction and improving people's lives. In the coming time, the commune will continue to cooperate with units and businesses so that vocational students have suitable job opportunities."
At the same time, the Provincial Farmers' Association also coordinates with training institutions, agricultural extension centers, and enterprises inside and outside the province to promote agricultural vocational training programs, linked to practical needs. The content focuses on propaganda and mobilizing farmers' children to learn vocational skills; building production models associated with the new rural program; transferring science and technology in safe cultivation, animal husbandry, and aquaculture according to VietGAP standards. The Association also builds production linkage models according to value chains such as raising field fish and field snails, supporting the supply of specialty aquatic breeds and building agricultural product brands. These models help people shift from small-scale production to commodity production, bringing in more stable income.
In addition, job fairs organized in remote communes have created opportunities for poor workers to access recruitment, vocational training and employment information. According to the Tuyen Quang Provincial Employment Service Center, each session attracts over 1,000 participants. Thereby, many businesses and training facilities have recruited and connected jobs for thousands of rural workers. From 2024 to now, the whole province has created new jobs for more than 90,000 workers, of whom the majority are workers in disadvantaged areas, poor households and households that have just escaped poverty.
In the coming time, the Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to diversify training occupations, innovate teaching content and methods, improve the quality of vocational training, and connect with the actual needs of the market. The goal is to help rural workers have jobs and stable incomes, contributing to economic development and ensuring social security in the province.
