National Assembly Delegate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan: A useful bridge for young parliamentarians to exchange experiences on digital transformation

As a young National Assembly delegate of the 15th term attending the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference, Deputy Head of the Binh Duong Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan hopes that, through this Conference and the "Vietnam Aspirations" Exhibition, it will be a useful bridge for young parliamentarians to exchange experiences on digital transformation, flexible adaptation solutions after the pandemic, thereby proposing strategies and creating favorable institutional, environmental, and infrastructure conditions for people and businesses to invest and develop.

Reporter: As a young National Assembly delegate of the 15th term, could you share your thoughts and feelings about attending the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference and the "Vietnamese Aspirations" Exhibition within the framework of this Conference?

Delegate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Head of the Standing Delegation of the National Assembly of Binh Duong Province: This is the first time the Vietnamese National Assembly has hosted the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference. As a young Vietnamese National Assembly delegate, I am very impressed and proud to participate in the "Vietnam Aspirations" Exhibition within the framework of this Conference. This is an opportunity for me and other delegates to meet, learn from each other's experiences, and share very useful information related to the Conference's theme: "The Role of Youth in Promoting the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals through Digital Transformation and Innovation."

This also presents a great opportunity and a useful bridge for young parliamentarians to exchange experiences on digital transformation, flexible adaptation solutions after the pandemic and market fluctuations, thereby formulating strategies to create an environment for mobilizing resources for investment and development, for production and business, and creating favorable institutional, environmental, and infrastructure conditions for people and businesses to invest and develop.

Through this Conference, I, along with many young National Assembly delegates, hope that we will learn and accumulate more knowledge and information about the parliaments of other countries, young parliamentarians from other countries, and youth from other countries, and contribute our roles and voices to legislative work, in creating and applying new achievements in all fields, so that in the development process we can create sustainable value for present and future generations and for the world.

Reporter: Within the framework of the Conference, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in coordination with relevant ministries and agencies, organized an exhibition with the theme "Vietnamese Aspirations". Through this Conference and Exhibition, how do delegates assess the theme of the Conference and how well the exhibition reflects this theme?

Delegate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Head of the Standing Delegation of the National Assembly of Binh Duong Province: From the conference's theme, "The Role of Youth in Promoting the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals through Digital Transformation and Innovation," I find the discussion topics very rich and diverse, focusing on three main themes: The first theme discusses digital transformation; the second theme focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship; and the third theme focuses on the role of young parliamentarians and parliamentarians in promoting respect for cultural diversity in the context of technological transformation and globalization.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) President Duarte Pacheco, along with other delegates, visited the exhibition area showcasing innovative products, new technologies, and high-tech equipment at the "Vietnam Aspiration" exhibition.

And the "Vietnam Aspirations" Exhibition, organized within the framework of this Conference, is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to introduce the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, the country's reform process, and to promote Vietnamese culture and people to international friends. I believe this is the purpose of this Exhibition. Along with that, we can exchange and share new approaches and methods for applying digital transformation technology in various fields: economy, culture, education, healthcare, etc.

The young parliamentarians proposed ways to create more open data courses for global youth, and foster collaborations between countries around the world to achieve the goal of "leaving no one behind."

I believe this conference is highly valuable and practically significant in the current global context, a mix of challenges and opportunities, and the economic crisis following the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, only by "standing on the shoulders of giants," especially by applying new technologies in production and education, can we sustainably create wealth, both material and spiritual, for the entire society.

Reporter: Having directly attended the "Vietnam Aspirations" Exhibition, what are your observations and insights after visiting the product display areas?

Representative Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Head of the Standing Delegation of the National Assembly of Binh Duong Province: When visiting the Exhibition, I was impressed with the area showcasing new experiences based on technology to serve production, consumption, and civil servants… For example, a virtual assistant for the court system or planning maps of the past, present, and future – very intelligently and modernly integrated, with many useful features for users. It can be said that smart technology helps improve life and creates sustainable development.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) President Duarte Pacheco, along with other delegates, visited the OCOP product display area at the Exhibition.

Regarding the OCOP (One Commune One Product) stalls, I saw a diverse range of products, spanning across various regions, from Ha Giang to Phu Quoc and Kien Giang… After browsing these products, I found that they are both beneficial to health and have significant value, with clear geographical indications.

I hope that at global forums, regional forums, and domestic and international conferences, we can introduce Vietnamese products to connect, trade, and promote our agricultural products and specialties to the world market.

Therefore, I find this exhibition very valuable, diverse, and with a wide variety of products. We can replicate this model not only at the Global Young Parliamentarians Conference but also at other global conferences in various fields. Because our country is very strong in agricultural products, especially rice, and with new technologies, we can learn and be pioneers in this field. Through this, we can organize exhibitions to introduce and promote our intellectual property rights, spread them to the world, use technology, and create greater value for Vietnamese products, especially agricultural products.
