With the support of the Association at all levels, many members have confidently developed economic models, improved income, stabilized their lives and contributed to building a sustainable homeland.
Implementing the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Tay Ninh Provincial Women's Union has concretized the Project with many practical and flexible solutions according to the conditions of each locality. The Union focuses on widely disseminating the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies on start-ups and business development; at the same time, organizing training, guiding the development of business plans, connecting markets, supporting access to capital and building brands.
Since 2017, the province has organized more than 500 propaganda sessions, disseminating knowledge to more than 257,000 members; supporting more than 3,500 women to start businesses, with a total mobilized capital of over 25 billion VND.
Ms. Luong Kim Hoang, a member of the Women's Union of Hiep Tan Ward, Hoa Thanh Town, is one of the women who has been supported by the Union to start a successful business. Previously, Ms. Hoang always cherished the dream of starting a business making mixed rice paper. However, her family's economic conditions were limited, she did not have capital to invest in machinery, and could only do it manually on a small scale, with an unstable income.
Understanding her wishes and circumstances, the Women's Union of Hiep Tan Ward proactively supported her with a loan from the Social Policy Bank. Not stopping there, the Union also advised on safe production processes and guided her in developing a suitable investment plan. Thanks to that, she boldly invested in a cake mixing machine, improving productivity and product quality. Currently, she wholesales more than 3,000 bags of mixed rice paper each month, earning nearly 30 million VND in revenue, while creating jobs for 4-5 seasonal female workers in the locality.
In Cam Giang commune (Go Dau district), Ms. Vo Thi Kim Thu used to work for hire, with an unstable income, and was also struggling to start a sewing business but did not have enough conditions to buy machinery. The commune Women's Union mobilized the model "Supporting women to start a business", creating conditions for her to borrow 5 million VND without interest to buy her first sewing machine. At the same time, the Union also guided her on how to receive processed goods and organize production time to suit her family's circumstances.
After accumulating experience and receiving continued support of 50 million VND from the job creation fund, Ms. Thu boldly established a garment processing group at home. Currently, the group has 10 members, with each person earning a stable average income of 5-6 million VND/month. The processing group not only helps her have a sustainable job but also creates additional livelihoods for local women, contributing to improving income and quality of life.
At the same time, the Union at all levels also coordinated to establish 34 cooperatives and 59 cooperative groups with women participating in management; at the same time, launched many community savings models such as "Startup Piggy Bank", "Bamboo Savings Tube", raising revolving funds to support women in economic development; thereby helping many members confidently start businesses, escape poverty and continue to help other women progress together.
Assessing the effectiveness of Project 939, Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Van - President of the Provincial Women's Union said: "The most important thing is that women have changed their awareness and become more confident in doing business and production. The Union not only supports capital but also acts as a companion to help women gradually build business plans, connect to the market and affirm the role of women in developing the family and community economy."
In the coming time, the Association will continue to support women in starting businesses in appropriate forms, focusing on contents such as training in business management skills, digital transformation, building brands associated with OCOP products, developing green and circular economic models. The Association at all levels will continue to mobilize and connect social resources to support women in sustainable development, contributing to building Tay Ninh province to be more civilized, modern and humane.
