To achieve the growth target of the agricultural sector

With the goal of achieving a growth rate of 5.5% or more in the entire marine and forest agriculture sector in the last 6 months of 2025, of which crop cultivation increases by 5.6% and livestock farming increases by 5.2%, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is focusing on solutions to transform production and livestock farming structures, creating agricultural products with comparative advantages in the market.

Plant at least 13,000 hectares of new crops

According to Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Ton Thien San, the goal by the end of 2025 is to continue restructuring the industry, renewing the growth model towards comprehensiveness, sustainability and modernity, improving productivity, efficiency and competitiveness of goods. Specifically, the whole province planted a total area of 1,060,829 hectares, equivalent to 100% of the plan. In which, focusing on key crops including 167,004 hectares of rice (output of 1 million tons) in the communes of Dong Kho, Bac Ruong, Ham Thanh, Nghi Duc, Phan Son, Tanh Linh, Ham Thanh, Ham Kiem, Da Teh, Cat Tien, Cat Tien 2, Di Linh; 30,386 hectares of vegetables (output of 1.73 million tons); 3,776 hectares of flowers (output of 2.3 billion branches) in the areas of Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Lang Biang - Da Lat; Xuan Truong - Da Lat, communes of Quang Lap, D'ran, Ka Do, Duc Trong, Hiep Thanh, Tan Hoi, Lac Duong, Don Duong.

Coffee trees alone, care for and harvest 322,286 hectares (output 991,086 tons) in the agricultural areas of the communes of Thuan An, Kien Duc, Duc Lap, Nhan Co, Quang Tin, Truong Xuan, Dak Song, Duc An, Nam Nung, Quang Son, Bao Lam 1, Bao Lam 2, Bao Lam 3, Di Linh, Bao Thuan, Hoa Ninh, Dinh Trang Thuong. In addition, develop 115,493 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds, total output 679,574 tons); rubber 75,349 hectares (output 61,489 tons).

In addition, strengthen inspection, quarantine supervision in production areas that have been granted growing area codes, export codes, in order to minimize counterfeiting and fraud affecting the province's agricultural export activities, especially for durian products...

Development of large-scale farm farming

Meanwhile, the livestock sector's growth target is expected to reach 5.2% or more. Accordingly, the pig herd will increase to 133,000 (output 144,351 tons); buffaloes to 833 (output 1,017 tons); cows to 6,638 (1,130 dairy cows; 5,498 beef cows), milk output to 55,200 tons, fresh meat to 15,200 tons; poultry to 15.3 million (output 15,300 tons of fresh meat and 332.3 million eggs).

The Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to coordinate with communes and wards to review, propose and implement support for relocation and conversion of livestock farms in residential areas; research, allocate and reasonably use vacant land to develop large-scale, modern, organic, circular, biosafety industrial livestock farms; convert high-yield, high-quality livestock and poultry breeds; effectively use local support funds to vaccinate against dangerous animal diseases and disinfect.

In addition, the province promotes industrial aquaculture; supports the shift from nearshore fishing to offshore fishing with modern boats and advanced fishing equipment; prevents and puts an end to fishing boats and fishermen violating foreign waters...

By effectively implementing the above-mentioned key solutions in the fields of cultivation and livestock, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has significantly contributed to achieving the goal of recognizing 80 communes meeting new rural standards (77.7%) by the end of 2025; 9 communes meeting advanced new rural standards (8.7%); 3 model new rural communes (2.9%).
