(QBĐT) - Quang Binh has become a diverse and unique destination with attractive tourism products that attract tourists. One of the unique tourism products that is gradually creating a distinct brand for the province's tourism industry is tourism associated with the lives of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.

Many unique and attractive products

Quang Binh is one of the localities with the richest tourism resources in Vietnam, where many tangible and intangible cultural flows in the North Central region intersect and converge. The ethnic minority, border and mountainous areas have an area of ​​about 3,845 km2 (accounting for more than 47% of the province's total area) with a population of more than 45,000 people (accounting for about 4.98% of the province's total population). The ethnic minorities in Quang Binh live in concentrated communities in several communes in the districts of Minh Hoa, Tuyen Hoa, Bo Trach, Quang Ninh and Le Thuy, associated with many majestic and magnificent natural landscapes.

The ethnic minority community in Quang Binh has unique cultural values, expressed through customs, practices, traditional festivals, folk songs, cuisine ... Cultural characteristics, the prominence of revolutionary historical relics, the magnificence of nature are advantages for Quang Binh to develop types of tourism in the ethnic minority region, such as: Ethnic cultural tourism, community tourism, eco-tourism...

Director of Netin Company Limited Tran Xuan Cuong said that the company is exploiting two tourism products, including: Exploring nature and learning about the culture of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group in the two communes of Truong Xuan (Quang Ninh) and Ngan Thuy (Le Thuy); exploring Suoi Tien and conquering Cong Troi waterfall, Bai Dan in Kim Thuy commune (Le Thuy).

Here, visitors can enjoy the cuisine, listen to the songs, dances, and unique musical instruments of the Bru-Van Kieu people, while exploring and conquering the majestic natural landscape. Thanks to that, the company has created a unique tourism product, bringing a different experience to visitors.

Ms. Ho Thi Mom, Ngan Thuy commune shared: “Tinh-tung is one of the familiar and unique musical instruments of the Bru-Van Kieu people. I have known how to play this musical instrument for a long time. Through the connection of Netin Company Limited, I have had the opportunity to introduce this musical instrument to tourists from all over the world, I am very happy!”.

In addition to introducing cultural traditions and cuisine, local people also participate in cooking and porterage to support tourists. Netin Company Limited, along with consulting and training projects, helps people build homestays and develop tourism.

“In the coming time, the company will continue to work with the people to train human resources for the tours that the unit is exploiting; expand and develop homestays based on the people's existing houses to serve tourism in the two communes of Kim Thuy and Ngan Thuy. The company and the people will research on growing medicinal herbs and raising bees for sale, promoting the participation of ethnic minorities in the local economic development process,” said Mr. Tran Xuan Cuong.

Developing tourism associated with the life of ethnic minorities, Mr. Phan Van Thin, Tour Director of Chua Me Dat Company Limited (Oxalis) said that the company currently has 2 tours: Exploring En Cave for 2 days and 1 night and exploring Son Doong for 6 days and 5 nights, with activities such as stopping for lunch and visiting Doong village - the village of Bru-Van Kieu people in Tan Trach commune (Bo Trach).

In addition, Oxalis also has a product of a journey to find the legendary Truong Son mark. Tourists can experience visiting villages, learning about the life of the Ma Coong people, an ethnic group of the Bru-Van Kieu in the West of Quang Binh; stopping for lunch at Tuoc village, Thuong Trach commune (Bo Trach).

“The tourism products associated with the ethnic minority life exploited by the company are operating effectively and are loved by domestic and international tourists. The uniqueness of Son Doong, the world’s largest cave, with its majestic natural beauty, along with the culture, rustic life, and affection of the Bru-Van Kieu people… are extremely attractive experiences for tourists. Therefore, this tour usually requires booking from several months to a year in advance,” Mr. Phan Van Thin shared.

Make the most of existing advantages

Currently, Quang Binh has more than 40 tourist areas, destinations and products chosen by many domestic and international tourists, including many products associated with the ethnic minority and mountainous areas. In addition, programs to visit historical sites and experience the culture of ethnic minorities on the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail are also attractive tourism products for tourists.

However, according to Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Quy, in general, Quang Binh tourism has not yet effectively exploited the cultural resources of the ethnic minority and mountainous regions. Tourism products in this area have initially only had the participation of ethnic minorities in some activities, such as: Serving tourist groups, providing food, cultural and artistic exchanges... There are no typical tourism products of the ethnic minority; a product chain has not been created at many destinations to expand the tourist market segment, extend the length of stay, improve the socio-economic efficiency of tourism, promote the development of service industries, ancillary production...

Action Program No. 01-CTr/TU, dated December 9, 2020 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing tourism to truly become a spearhead economic sector, period 2021-2025 clearly stated: Investment and development of tourism products should not only focus on existing advantages (caves, sea, culture-history), but also need to "research and develop community tourism associated with new rural construction, combined with preserving and promoting traditional craft villages, unique cultural features of ethnic groups, forming ethnic cultural tourism spots".

To promote the strengths and bring the good traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities into tourism activities, it is necessary to take a process, requiring a lot of effort and resources. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy said that, first of all, it is necessary to focus on a number of solutions, such as: Inventory and evaluation of cultural tourism resources of ethnic minorities. After determining the products that can be built into tourism products, it is necessary to establish a long-term program to comprehensively manage the exploitation process for tourism activities.

Investing in infrastructure and technical facilities is also an important factor in exploiting the good traditional cultural values ​​of the Ethnic Minorities in tourism activities. When exploiting the cultural tourism products of the Ethnic Minorities, it is necessary to organize links with other tourist areas, locations, and products to become tourism programs to meet the diverse needs of tourists. The work of promoting and advertising the image of the products needs to be strengthened. In addition, the main purpose of exploiting the good cultural values ​​of the Ethnic Minorities for tourism activities is to promote and preserve. To exploit sustainably, it requires maintenance and conservation activities to preserve the intrinsic cultural values...
