The lasting value in President Ho Chi Minh 's call for patriotic emulation 75 years ago affirmed: Patriotic emulation has gone beyond the framework of a movement and gradually become a method, a way of life to aim for the happiness of each citizen and the prosperity of the nation.
It is not only when the Fatherland is in danger that a high level of patriotism is required. Even in peacetime, in the process of national recovery, construction and development, there are still many new challenges and new risks. That is, in the process of deep integration, the connection of cross-border platforms, the rapid development of technology, we still need to be alert to perceive the "soft power", "soft borders" that silently impact the economic and social fields, affecting the consciousness of each citizen.
The meaning of the message "Every Vietnamese citizen, regardless of age, gender, rich or poor, big or small, must become a fighter on the front lines: Military, economic, political , cultural" in the Call for Patriotic Emulation 75 years ago still has full meaning to the present as a reminder.
Patriotism originates from life, love of family, love of homeland, village... is the right and duty of every citizen.
Patriotism is not only in words but must come from the thoughts and concrete, daily actions of every Vietnamese citizen.
For example, as Uncle Ho called for: "Government employees compete to work wholeheartedly and serve the people". At present, that is the work of cadres and public ethics.
The hot issue in personnel work today is corruption, negativity, self-evolution, and self-transformation of a number of cadres and party members. Preventing and combating the above issues is an urgent task of the Party and State.
Or more recently, the attitude of many officials in performing their duties, fearing mistakes, fearing responsibility, shirking responsibility, and avoiding responsibility, has caused public outrage. This is not only a lack of responsibility to the organization, the country, and the people, but also a violation of current regulations and even the law.
Patriotism needs to be demonstrated in the practice of "daring to think, daring to speak, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, daring to innovate, daring to face difficulties and challenges, and being resolute in action for the common good".
In a broader perspective, patriotism needs to be highly expressed through creativity, through every action in the spirit of serving the nation and the community. The challenge ahead requires us to be alert in every step and action to build an advanced culture, imbued with Vietnamese identity, avoid social consequences, and build a strong, self-reliant economy capable of overcoming risks and consequences from the outside.
That requires the responsibility of each individual, so that patriotic emulation truly becomes obvious, the reason for living of every Vietnamese citizen.
