On June 3, more than 17,000 candidates in Hung Yen officially entered the first day of the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.
In the morning, candidates will take the Literature exam in essay format, lasting 120 minutes. In the afternoon, candidates will take the Math exam in multiple choice format, lasting 90 minutes.
On the morning of June 4, candidates will take the English test in the form of multiple choice questions, lasting 60 minutes. After that, candidates applying to Hung Yen High School for the Gifted will take the specialized subject test, lasting 150 minutes.

From this year, according to the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, there are 3 methods of admission to grade 10 of high school: entrance exam, admission review or a combination of entrance exam and admission review. The selection of admission method is under the authority of the locality.
Regarding the entrance exam method for grade 10 high school, to ensure consistency and implement the policy of a light and inexpensive exam, the Ministry of Education and Training generally stipulates the implementation of 3 subjects and exams, including: Math, Literature and a third subject or exam selected by the Department of Education and Training.
