The City-level Vocational Skills Competition is a playground to honor the young, highly skilled workforce, and is also a step to screen and select representatives of Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the 13th National Vocational Skills Competition and aim for regional and international playgrounds.

According to the plan, the contestants include students at vocationaltraining institutions, universities and workers working at enterprises, corporations and professional associations in Ho Chi Minh City.

Candidates have never participated in national, ASEAN or world vocational skills competitions and meet the required age (not older than 21 years old; high-tech occupations such as mobile robots, mechatronics, and network cable installation can compete up to 24 years old).

In 2025, the exam will be held for 27 occupations, including many occupations in the high-tech and creative skills group such as information technology software solutions, industry 4.0, industrial automation, industrial control, mobile robots, CAD mechanical engineering design, network system administration, graphic design, fashion design, beauty care, etc.

Besides, there are essential manufacturing and service occupations such as CNC milling - turning, electrical installation, automotive technology, cooking, restaurant services, car driving...

According to the organizers, this year's list of occupations reflects the strong shift in the labor market in the era of technology and integration.

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is also focusing on training a workforce that not only has sufficient vocational skills, but is also capable of adapting to international standards.

This year's exam is based on official questions from national and international exams, using CIS software with a 700-point scale as in the international WorldSkills playground. The exam time for each profession lasts from 12 to 15 hours.

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on August 11, the exam will take place from August 11 to 17, and the closing ceremony will take place on August 29. Exam sites will be arranged based on the number of candidates, ensuring full safety, health and facilities.

Ho Chi Minh City plans to award 30 gold medals, 60 silver medals, 90 bronze medals and many certificates of excellent vocational skills. In addition, there will be three collective awards for participating units with outstanding achievements.
