On June 8th, the University of Economics - Hue University organized the 2025 Student Scientific Research Conference, with the participation of hundreds of students and lecturers from various faculties, departments, and training units.
Notably, there is a scientific research topic with a very "hot" subject: The current state of ChatGPT usage among university students.
This topic was researched and presented by students Ha Bich Ngoc and Nguyen Thi Truc Quynh from the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Economics - Hue University.

During their research, the young authors found that artificial intelligence (AI), especially ChatGPT, has a significant impact on all aspects of society, particularly on students' use of ChatGPT in their studies.
Specifically, after conducting an online survey of over 350 students from various universities in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities, the results showed that ChatGPT had a significant impact on these students' learning.
From a positive perspective, ChatGPT has the potential to become a powerful learning support tool. Students can use it to quickly search for information, clearly explain complex concepts, suggest and develop ideas for essays, practice foreign language skills, and more.
This not only helps personalize the learning process, promoting proactiveness and self-learning abilities, but also significantly contributes to improving the effectiveness of knowledge acquisition for learners in the digital education environment.
However, this very convenience raises a big question: Does using ChatGPT actually improve learning outcomes, or does it simply stifle students' independent and creative thinking?
After conducting a survey and reviewing the literature, the authors pointed out that the use of ChatGPT also raises concerns about technological dependence, increased plagiarism, and a decline in critical thinking and independent learning abilities. Furthermore, the reliability of the information and the tool's ability to solve complex problems are still limited.

The authors found that in Vietnam, there are still not many studies that systematically and empirically analyze the relationship between the use of ChatGPT and student learning outcomes. This highlights the urgent need for comprehensive research on both the positive and negative aspects of using this tool in the context of Vietnamese higher education, which is promoting digital transformation and active learning.
This year's conference also featured over 20 outstanding student projects selected for presentation, covering various fields such as development economics, trade, finance and banking, accounting and auditing, marketing, and logistics. A special feature of the conference was its emphasis on the practical application of the projects, the novelty of the approaches, and their ability to address current socio-economic issues.
