Quoc Hoc Hue School - the school associated with Uncle Ho's years in Hue through a sketch perspective

That is the feeling of many people when coming to see the exhibition with the theme "President Ho Chi Minh's relics through sketch art" being displayed at the Hue Museum of Fine Arts (15 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa district) on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of his birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

Not only is Hue a place that left a strong impression on President Ho Chi Minh's youth, it is also an important factor in the formation of the great man Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh. The late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong once commented: "The time in Hue was the time when Nguyen Tat Thanh grew up and started going to school. Those years were a very important time in the formation of Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh".

Currently, in Hue there are about 20 relics and relic sites about President Ho Chi Minh or directly related to his family. Of these, 4 relics have been granted certificates of recognition by the State as special national relics: Uncle Ho Memorial House at 158 Mai Thuc Loan (where his family lived from 1895 to 1901); Uncle Ho Memorial House in Duong No village (where President Ho Chi Minh, his father and brother lived and studied from 1898 to 1900); Duong No village communal house (where President Ho Chi Minh's childhood was marked during his time living in Duong No village) and Hue National School (where President Ho Chi Minh studied from 1908 to 1909).

With 35 works sketched by artists through a practical creation program in early 2025 at relics associated with President Ho Chi Minh in Hue, all took viewers on an experience trip, finding places and houses associated with many childhood memories of Uncle Ho during the 10 years he and his family lived, studied, grew up and participated in patriotic activities.

Through the art of sketching, with the emotions and love for Hue, for beloved Uncle Ho, architects, painters, and art lovers regardless of age or profession from Hanoi and Hue have "exploited" and "awakened" the beauty of President Ho Chi Minh's legacy through their writing style. Each work created and displayed in this exhibition contains passion, lingering emotions, experiences, and dedication that the author himself has left in his works to present to President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 135th birthday, and that is also a vivid demonstration of the special love for beloved Uncle Ho.

Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of Hue Museum of Fine Arts, said that through the exhibition, it will bring interesting experiences and many lingering emotions to viewers. From there, it will spread respect, sympathy and good behavior towards heritage; connect humanistic values, between heritage - art and people, arouse pride, awareness of preserving and promoting the value of President Ho Chi Minh's heritage in Hue to the public and visitors with the message "joining hands to preserve and promote President Ho Chi Minh's heritage".
