According to statistics from Box Office Vietnam, a website that tracks nationwide cinema ticket sales, as of noon on April 6, the revenue of “Tunnels – Sun in the Dark” is at over 46.1 billion VND. This is an unprecedentedly high and rapidly growing revenue for a film about revolutionary history.
Before “Tunnels – Sun in the Dark”, the war-themed film “Peach, Pho and Piano” also set a record in revenue when it earned more than 20 billion VND in theater tickets.
“Tunnels – Sun in the Dark” is directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, invested by businessman Nguyen Thanh Nam and several other businessmen. The film is inspired by real events after 1967, about a 21-man guerrilla squad fighting in the Cu Chi area, with the mission of holding out, holding the area, and then having to take on the job of protecting and keeping secrets for the strategic intelligence group to collect and transmit information.
