
In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam exported more than 1.6 million tons of noodles and noodle products, earning 485 million USD (up 42.3% in volume but down 4.8% in value compared to the same period in 2024).
Although Vietnam's export volume of noodles and noodle products has increased sharply, the export value has still decreased because the export price of this item has continuously "plummeted" since the beginning of 2025 due to abundant supply in the world .
In terms of market, China continued to be Vietnam's largest export market for noodles and noodle products in the first 4 months of 2025 with 1.53 million tons, worth about 454 million USD (up 45% in volume but down 3% in value). The average export price to this market reached 296 USD/ton (down 33% compared to the same period in 2024).
Ranked second is the Taiwan (China) market with more than 19 thousand tons, worth more than 7 million USD (down 8% in volume and 38% in value compared to the same period in 2024). The average export price reached 373 USD/ton (down 32% compared to the same period in 2024).
Next is the Malaysian market with more than 12 thousand tons, worth more than 4.5 million USD (up 70% in volume and 22% in value compared to the same period in 2024). The average export price reached 378 USD/ton (down nearly 30% compared to the same period in 2024).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has approved the Project on sustainable development of the cassava industry until 2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the target by 2030 is that the country's fresh cassava output will reach 11.5-12.5 million tons/year; the cassava growing area using standard varieties will account for 40-50%; the sustainable cultivation area will reach 50%. In particular, the export turnover of cassava and cassava products will reach 1.8-2 billion USD.
