Fire breaks out, customers flee from Mobile World store

Late on May 16, Tan Thoi Nhat Ward Police, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with relevant units to investigate the scene, clarify the cause and estimate the damage after the fire at The Gioi Di Dong store (corner of Phan Van Hon - Le Duc Anh streets).

According to initial information, at around 7:30 p.m. the same day, many people traveling on Phan Van Hon Street discovered a fire breaking out from the signboard area of ​​the Mobile World store and then quickly spreading to the back.

When the fire was discovered, employees and customers shouted and ran outside. The store's security guard used a mini fire extinguisher to put out the fire but could not control it. The fire created black smoke that covered the entire store.

Firefighting and Rescue Team of Region 12, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized 3 specialized fire trucks and 20 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. Firefighting teams moved water hoses in many directions to prevent the fire from spreading.

Traffic through the fire area is congested.

After about 30 minutes, the fire was under control. At the scene, many electronic devices inside the store were severely damaged. The fire caused congestion at the Phan Van Hon-Le Duc Anh intersection.
