Services - tourism: Creating momentum for economic growth

Located in the key economic region of the North, Vinh Phuc is endowed by nature with three landscapes: mountainous, midland and delta, giving the province a strength and potential for attractive and unique tourism.

Along with that, the province has more than 1,400 historical and cultural relics with more than 530 ranked relics, including 69 national relics, 464 provincial relics; 19 traditional craft villages and many folk games and specialties with strong local colors such as fish, chayote, banh hon, porridge... In particular, Tam Dao was honored as " The world's leading destination town"; Vinh Phuc Golf course system is in the top 5 most favorite golf courses.

Promoting the potential and strengths of the locality, the province always pays attention to and invests in comprehensively developing the tourism industry. In particular, focusing on developing the infrastructure system, especially key tourist areas such as Tam Dao, Dai Lai, Tay Thien... are continuously invested and upgraded.

From 2015 to present, the total state budget capital invested in infrastructure in tourist areas has reached 2,577 billion VND. Currently, in the area, there are 40 major projects of investors and a number of investment projects in the tourism sector that have been granted investment licenses with a total registered capital of more than 21,162 billion VND.

To promote the development of services and tourism, the province actively improves policies and administrative procedures in a more open and transparent manner to create a favorable investment environment to encourage and attract organizations and individuals to invest in the tourism sector and promote linkages and cooperation with neighboring provinces, especially localities with developed tourism industries, to build attractive domestic tours for tourists.

Along with that, the province always pays attention to and focuses on ensuring security, order and traffic safety at tourist destinations. Promote propaganda, promotion and tourism promotion in many forms through the media, political, cultural and social events of the province; tourism fairs and exhibitions, and at the same time cooperate in tourism development with provinces and cities in the country in general and provinces and cities in the region in particular.

Thanks to that, in recent years, high-end resort tourism, MICE tourism (a combination of meetings, incentives, seminars and exhibitions), and golf tourism in the area have made breakthroughs, bringing in large revenues for the province's tourism industry, contributing to the socio-economic development of the area.

Recently, at the Vinh Phuc Hot Air Balloon Festival with the theme "Vinh Phuc flies up with the country" taking place for 5 days (April 30 - May 4, 2025) in Vinh Yen city, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over. The festival is organized on a large scale with a cultural and artistic space combined with exhibition areas, shopping, cuisine and many OCOP products, local specialties, fashion, handicrafts... serving the sightseeing and shopping needs of tourists. This is an event to promote and introduce the image, land, people, potential, and advantages of cultural and tourism development of the province to visitors from near and far.

The province currently has 25 businesses operating in the tourism business, including 7 international travel businesses; 563 tourist accommodation establishments with 9,973 rooms and 3,310 staff members. Of which, there are 4 5-star hotels, 2 4-star hotels, 9 3-star hotels and 60 2-star and 1-star hotels.

In May 2025, the accommodation and catering services industry in the area had positive growth with revenue reaching over 658 billion VND, up 1.72% over the previous month and up 26.27% over the same period. Revenue from tourism services in May reached over 29 billion VND, up 16.12% over the previous month. In the first 5 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached over 35,898 billion VND, up 13.75% over the same period.

To maximize the advantages and development resources, turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector, meet the requirements and characteristics of a comprehensive economic sector, operating under the market mechanism, the province continues to perfect the system of appropriate and breakthrough policies to develop tourism. Prioritize tourism investment projects, focusing on developing types of eco-tourism, resorts; cultural, spiritual, festival tourism; MICE tourism; golf sports tourism.

At the same time, improve the quality of tourism products and services; foster tourism skills for the workforce at tourism businesses and people working in community tourism. Strengthen inspection and supervision of service quality according to the provisions of law...
