Nearly 30 years in Vietnam, Honda Vietnam has continuously expanded its production scale, diversified its products, becoming one of the leading companies in the field of motorcycle manufacturing and a prestigious automobile manufacturer in the Vietnamese market.
Currently, Honda Vietnam has 3 motorbike factories, 1 automobile factory, a system of driver training centers, and a product research and development center. In 2024, motorbike production output will increase by 21%, automobile production will increase by 17%; State budget contribution will increase by 14% compared to 2023. The localization rate of motorbikes will reach 98%, and that of automobiles will reach 27%.
Aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by 46% by 2030 and move towards zero net emissions by 2050, the company has continuously invested in advanced technology, implemented key projects; prioritized the development and application of improved internal combustion engine (ICE) technologies; put into operation rooftop solar systems at 2 factories in Vinh Phuc and Ha Nam , with a total capacity of 8 MWp; participated in tree planting activities to protect the environment through the "Honda Tree Planting Festival - For a Green Vietnam" with a total area of up to 814 hectares. In fiscal year 2024, the company has reduced nearly 8,900 tons of CO2.
Traffic safetyeducation programs, community support... are widely deployed by the company, contributing to improving the quality of life for people. In fiscal year 2024, 1.8 million qualified helmets were given to first graders nationwide; more than 2.5 million students and more than 240,000 parents were trained in knowledge and skills to participate in safe traffic. To date, more than 8.4 million helmets have been given to primary school students.
Recently, at a working session with Vinh Phuc province, Ms. Sayaka Arai, General Director of Honda Vietnam Company, thanked the province for always accompanying, listening and promptly removing difficulties in production and business of enterprises. In particular, during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, when production and goods circulation activities encountered difficulties, Vinh Phuc province proactively coordinated to ensure that the supply chain was not disrupted and created maximum conditions for Honda's factory to maintain safe operations. Thanks to that, despite being affected by general difficulties, the company's production and business situation still achieved positive results.
Honda Vietnam accounts for about 86% of the motorbike market share in Vietnam. In March 2025, the company launched an electric motorbike model manufactured in Vinh Phuc, marking a turning point in its electrification roadmap and commitment to sustainable development in Vietnam.
Accompanying the development of enterprises, the province always creates favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, technical infrastructure and human resources for enterprises to develop with the motto: "Government serves, enterprises develop"; deploying many practical solutions such as reforming administrative procedures, investing in traffic infrastructure, supporting human resource training and quickly resolving enterprises' problems.
Establish a working group between Vinh Phuc province and Honda Vietnam Company to support businesses in implementing solutions to reduce emissions into the environment during production activities.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong affirmed that Vinh Phuc always considers investors in Vinh Phuc as its citizens, the province commits to accompany and provide maximum support for Honda Vietnam to expand production, develop new product lines; strengthen links with domestic enterprises to promote the supporting industry, creating higher added value for the local economy.
Along with that, creating a transparent and stable investment environment for FDI enterprises in general and Honda Vietnam in particular to continue to develop and innovate technology, aiming to become the leading center for manufacturing and exporting motorbikes and automobiles in the region.
With the orientation of developing high-tech, environmentally friendly industry, Vinh Phuc commits to continue accompanying Honda Vietnam on the journey of innovation, integration and sustainable development.
