Vietnam Financial Forum 2025: Creating a breakthrough in the strategy for developing science, technology and innovation in Da Nang city

DNO - On the morning of August 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with the Central Policy and Strategy Committee to organize the Vietnam Finance Forum 2025. This activity is part of the series of events of Da Nang Finance and Tech Week 2025.

The forum was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Thanh Nghi, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang City ; Thai Thanh Quy, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Pham Dai Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

Also chairing the forum were Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc; Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, Member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council, Chairman of the Advisory Council for the Construction of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang City. Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang attended the forum.

Promoting science and technology, innovation and international integration

In his opening speech, Party Central Committee member and Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the week is an important event, demonstrating the proactive determination and efforts of Da Nang city in promoting its potential and advantages, creating new development space, creating new growth drivers, promoting the economic target for 2025 and the double-digit growth target for the period 2025 - 2030; as well as synchronously implementing the "four pillar resolutions" of the Politburo on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, international integration, and institutional improvement for private economic development.

The forum is a convergence of three core areas: finance, digital transformation and semiconductor industry. These areas are identified as the focus to promote science and technology, innovation and international integration of Da Nang in particular and the whole country in general.

Accordingly, the forum aims to connect domestic and foreign agencies, experts, scientists, businesses, and investors to exchange, discuss, and contribute ideas on mechanisms and policies to promote the formation and development of an international financial center in general and Da Nang city in particular.

The presentations of experts, scientists, investors and managers will contribute to speeding up the implementation of tasks, improving efficiency, unity and coordination at all levels and sectors, to soon turn Da Nang into a dynamic and modern international financial center, in line with international standards according to the resolutions of the Party, National Assembly and Government.

The Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee emphasized that blockchain technology and semiconductor chips are two of Vietnam's 11 strategic technology fields, identifying the need to prioritize research, development and mastery.

The focus for blockchain technology development is on product and service groups, including digital assets, digital currencies, encryption, blockchain network security, and traceability systems. For the semiconductor microchip sector, the focus is on research and development, trial production, commercialization, technology transfer, etc.

The fact that Da Nang is organizing today's event, on the eve of the 23rd Da Nang City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, is of special significance, to clearly define the goal, making Da Nang a growth pole of Vietnam, a city of sustainable development based on science and technology, innovation, and international integration.

Create a breakthrough in the city's socio-economic development

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang emphasized that in the context of the world entering the digital age with continuous changes and fluctuations in technology, the financial sector is also undergoing strong changes.

Fintech, Blockchain, semiconductors or green finance are no longer abstract concepts but have gradually become important pillars, shaping the future of the global economy in general and in Vietnam in the era of national development.

The key event of the week is the “Vietnam Financial Forum 2025” held in person and online, bringing together more than 500 delegates, representing nearly 30 diplomatic missions, more than 50 international experts and speakers, and many large and reputable organizations, businesses, and investors.

With the theme “Connecting Vietnam’s International Financial Center with the Global Financial Network”, the forum will open up a space for multi-dimensional exchange and discussion, especially the necessary mechanisms and policies to realize the aspiration of developing an International Financial Center in Vietnam.

In addition, "Da Nang Finance and Technology Week 2025" also has two other important events: "Vietnam Blockchain Festival 2025" held on August 29 and "Da Nang Semiconductor Day 2025" taking place on August 30.

This series of events not only promotes the application of advanced technologies such as blockchain and semiconductors in key economic sectors but also creates a bridge for scientists, businesses and investors to cooperate, exchange and research, and transfer technology.

This event helps Da Nang promote its potential and advantages, initiating long-term and sustainable cooperation in the fields of finance and technology. At the same time, it demonstrates the city's determination and initiative in preparing conditions and its willingness to learn in the process of cooperating with domestic and international partners in forming the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang city.

The city is actively coordinating with central ministries and branches to complete draft decrees guiding and implementing the National Assembly's resolutions, especially the Decree on the establishment of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang City in conjunction with the implementation of the Politburo's resolution on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation to create a foundation, a clear legal corridor, attracting projects and high-quality human resources to serve the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang City.
