On the afternoon of August 10, at the Kim Son District Political Center, the Department of Information and Communications chaired and coordinated with the Kim Son District People's Committee to organize a drill to ensure communication for disaster prevention and search and rescue (PCTT&TKCN) and special and emergency situations in 2023.
Attending the rehearsal were leaders of the Department of Information and Communications; representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; representatives of the Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control; leaders of Kim Son district; representatives of telecommunications units in the province.
The drill lasted for 150 minutes, divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 practiced the mechanism for deploying the province's flood and storm prevention and control orders, including leading situations before, during and after the storm; units received information and handled situations, and reported at the hall.
Phase 2 is to practice handling some situations during storm response, rescue, troubleshooting of broadband fiber optic transmission lines and deploying ground mobile information transmitting and receiving stations to ensure communication in Kim Son district.
The drill was a great success, with absolute safety for people, vehicles and equipment. The drill scenarios were close to the actual terrain conditions, situations that often occur during storms and were suitable for the province's telecommunications network; the handling measures were quick and effective, skillfully applying the "4 on-site" motto. The time and operation of the drill were arranged appropriately in terms of content and time; the drill mechanism was concise, concise, and rich in content, omitting unnecessary procedures; the practice part was carried out quickly and reasonably.
Through the exercise, it has contributed to improving the leadership and direction capacity of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the information and communications sector; improving the ability to organize coordination and cooperation between enterprises; the support of local levels and sectors with the motto "4 on-site" to be ready to promptly respond to communications for disaster prevention and control and other special and urgent situations, thereby supplementing and completing the plan and solution to ensure communications of the unit and the coordination and cooperation between telecommunications enterprises.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity to propagate and educate officials and people to raise awareness of proactive prevention, good preparation, readiness to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
