The trio Quy, Long and Hanh from the TV series from the 2000s will return in the movie "Kaleidoscope" by director Vo Thanh Hoa, this Christmas.
According to the producer, the trio in the TV version played by actors Vo Ngoc Trai, Vu Long and Anh Dao will have a cameo role - a small role for a special character to create excitement for the audience.
Unlike Vo Ngoc Trai and Vu Long, who have continued to participate in many entertainment activities after the TV version of “Kaleidoscope” , Anh Dao has temporarily withdrawn from acting to pursue her studies and personal work. However, she is very willing to return to the screen again because of many personal feelings.
The new trio of actors Quy, Long, Hanh will be played by Hung Anh, Nhat Linh and Phuong Duyen, telling a funny and unforgettable school story of "first demons, second ghosts, third students".
The film's producers said that the film had three difficult casting rounds, from live to online. "The process of finding the main actors was really difficult because the age of 14-15 of the three main characters is quite picky about actors. The second casting round was expanded to many provinces and cities across the country and received many applications from those who are passionate about acting, as well as love 'Kaleidoscope.' "
All three actors are brand new faces, previously unknown to the audience. Although they have never attended any acting school, the three young people all convince with their own unique qualities.
Director Vo Thanh Hoa is confident that audiences will see themselves in the stories of the original work, as well as in the way the new film portrays them./.
“Kaleidoscope” by Nguyen Nhat Anh is a long series of 54 stories, published from 1995-2002, telling the happy and sad stories of school age, gathering mischievous and interesting games, but no less profound and meaningful.
The TV version has 3 parts released in 3 years from 2005-2006 and 2008. The film was shown on HTV9 channel of Ho Chi Minh City Television, attracting the attention of not only students but also all ages of small screen audiences.
In 2016, Kim Dong Publishing House also released 18 volumes of stories with illustrations by artist Do Hoang Tuong - a close friend of writer Nguyen Nhat Anh for many decades.
