Mr. Le Van Be |
* Could you tell us the results of reviewing and adjusting 3 types of forests according to Phu Yen province's forest classification, period 2021-2030, vision to 2050?
- Based on the results of reviewing and adjusting 3 types of forests in Phu Yen province in 2017 and the Prime Minister 's forestry land allocation targets; provincial planning, land use planning of Phu Yen province to 2030, vision to 2050, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with sectors and localities to review the locations and boundaries of 3 types of forests to ensure compliance with planning, land use plans, provincial planning as a basis for effective implementation of the Sustainable Forestry Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050.
According to the results of the review and adjustment, the total area of 3 types of forests in 2025 is 254,517 hectares. * Compared to the review and adjustment of 3 forest types according to Phu Yen province's forest classification in 2017, what is different this time, sir?
- The review and adjustment of the 3 forest types this time aims to create a unified and synchronous development for the province's socio-economic development, ensuring compliance with the forestry land allocation targets for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 of Phu Yen. The results of the review of the 3 forest types are integrated into the land use planning, the provincial planning to 2030, with a vision to 2050 and the national forestry planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. This is the basis for implementing socio-economic development activities in the province in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
This adjustment has overcome the shortcomings in the previous review and adjustment of the 3 forest types; reviewed and transferred out of the planning other land areas (such as residential land, infrastructure, transportation, dams, minerals, etc.), agricultural land areas, helping local people have more land for agricultural production. In addition, the authorities also reviewed and transferred areas with natural forests to include the 3 forest types that were not included in the previous planning.
The area and boundaries of the three types of forests this time are consistent with the land and forest areas according to the allocation of the National Land Use Planning targets for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; the 5-year national land use plan for 2021-2025 of the Prime Minister in Decision 326/QD-TTg dated March 9, 2022.
Stabilizing and matching the boundaries, areas, and current status of the three types of forests will effectively implement the content of the Sustainable Forestry Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Thereby, the province's sustainable forest restoration solutions can be applied to respond to climate change, increasing forest cover to 48% by 2025 and maintaining it until 2030.
This adjustment also serves as a basis for implementing land allocation, forest allocation, land and forest lease to organizations, people and communities with forest areas that have not been allocated or leased to improve the livelihoods of ethnic minorities living near forests through investment projects, support, forest environmental service fees, etc.
