UNESCO's recognition of Garba as an Intangible Cultural Heritage is not only a tribute to the heritage of the state of Gujarat but also a testament to India's vast and diverse cultural landscape.

Originating in the state of Gujarat, Garba has long been celebrated not only as a dance but also as a cultural phenomenon that represents unity, devotion and vibrant spiritual life.

Traditionally performed during the Navratri festival, Garba dance has become a symbol of the vibrant culture of the Indian subcontinent. This dance form has played an important role in forming social bonds, expressing inclusion and harmony.
