According to statistics, at the beginning of 2021, Dinh Lap district only had 211/444.2 km of rural roads paved, equivalent to 47.5%.
In order to contribute to improving people's lives and supporting production development, in recent years, Dinh Lap district has implemented synchronous solutions to increase the rate of hardening of traffic routes in the area.
Mr. Nguyen Chien Hiep, Vice Chairman of Dinh Lap District People's Committee shared: Determining rural transport development associated with new rural construction as a key task in the 2021-2025 period, the district has directed specialized departments to coordinate with People's Committees of communes and towns to review the current status of the existing rural road network, identify bottlenecks, difficult areas and long-term connectivity needs between regions, thereby developing a master plan to mobilize investment resources.
Mr. Nong Tuan Hue, Deputy Head of the Department of Planning and Finance of Dinh Lap district, informed: Based on the medium-term public investment capital plan for the period 2021-2025 and the capital of the national target program assigned by the central government and the province, the department has advised the District People's Committee to prioritize the allocation of investment capital for the rural transport infrastructure system in the area. Accordingly, the District People's Committee has focused on investing in solidifying the main roads of communes, inter-commune and inter-village with high connectivity in communes striving to meet new rural standards, especially disadvantaged communes towards meeting new rural standards. At the same time, the District People's Committee has made the most of capital from national target programs and rural development support projects to invest in rural transport. At the same time, the department also advised the District People's Committee to provide cement to communes to solidify the main roads of villages and alleys in the form of State support and self-made by the people.
To speed up the implementation progress, the District People's Committee directed specialized departments to support communes in applying model designs to invest in roads and manage construction quality of works. According to statistics from the Department of Economics , Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Dinh Lap District, from 2021 to April 2025, the department has supported communes in conducting surveys and applying model designs for 45 village road projects in communes.
As a result, from 2021 to the end of April 2025, units assigned to carry out rural traffic projects in the district have completed the construction of 194.5 km of new rural roads of all kinds, increasing the rate of hardening of rural roads in the district from 47.5% in 2021 to 91.2%. During this period, the People's Committee of Dinh Lap district used over 200 billion VND of public investment capital and national target program capital, and people contributed 14.6 billion VND to harden traffic routes.
Ms. Hoang Thi Xuan, residing in Khuoi Pung hamlet, Ban Xum village, Cuong Loi commune, excitedly said: Since the end of 2024, the State has paid attention to investing in the 245 Khe Bo-Ban Xum-National Highway 31 axis road, more than 5km long. Currently, the contractor has completed 3/5km of the project, and the project is expected to be completed in June 2025. The hardened road has satisfied the wishes of the people for many years, making it convenient for people to travel, and the economic development of the hills and forests of the people here will flourish in the coming years.
With the investment of the state, the joint contribution of the people and the community, the rural transport infrastructure system of Dinh Lap district has basically met the needs of travel and production development of the people. Thereby, promoting the consumption of goods and agricultural products, increasing people's income and bringing a new look to the rural areas of Dinh Lap district.
