Before the Covid-19 pandemic, these streets were known as "entertainment paradises" in the coastal city, which locals used to call Western streets, because of the bustling flow of international tourists , and the proliferation of bars and restaurants. However, a survey by Thanh Nien reporters on April 16 showed that along Nguyen Thien Thuat, Hung Vuong, Biet Thu, Tran Phu streets... there were many premises with signs for rent or transfer.
It's been more than 2 years since the "for rent" signs were posted, but many premises on Hung Vuong Street still haven't found tenants.
Before the pandemic, the rental price of premises in Western neighborhoods in Nha Trang could reach hundreds of millions of VND/month, but up to now, although the price has been reduced, the premises here are still very sluggish.
Mr. Manh (owner of a rental shop on Hung Vuong Street) said that although the number of visitors to Nha Trang is increasing, they are mainly domestic visitors, international visitors are still rare, so many people still do not dare to boldly rent premises to invest. "They are still afraid, partly because the number of Chinese visitors to Nha Trang is still very small, and Russian visitors are not many due to the conflict. I have put up a rental sign for more than 2 years, then reduced the price but no one has asked to rent yet," said Mr. Manh.
Western street Nguyen Thiet Thuat is in the same situation. Many premises have signs for rent but are left there without any renovation or renovation, so they are very desolate.
Along this route you can see many for rent signs.
Although it is preparing to enter the peak tourist season, many premises are still closed.
In 2019, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 7 million tourists, of which 3.56 million were international visitors. Of which, the Chinese and Russian tourist markets accounted for over 80% of the total number of international visitors to Khanh Hoa. However, the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic caused serious damage to the local tourism industry.
The tourism industry as well as landlords in Nha Trang City are still hoping that more international visitors will come in the near future, especially visitors from China, as well as visitors from countries such as Korea, Thailand, India, etc.
The leader of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said that in 2023, the tourism industry strives to welcome about 4 million tourists, including about 2.5 million domestic tourists and 1.5 million international tourists, with tourism revenue estimated at VND 21,000 billion. Khanh Hoa identified the domestic market as playing a key role in the recovery of the tourism industry...
However, according to many landlords, it will still be very difficult to find tenants at present and in 2023.
