
The 2025 Asian U22 and Youth Boxing Championship brings together 300 boxers from 23 countries and territories, including the Vietnamese youth boxing team with 19 members. Among them, some players are noted for their remarkable progress in their skills, such as: Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran, Song Thi Kim Ngan, Nguyen Huyen Tran, Ngo Ngoc Linh Chi... The young Vietnamese boxers competed excellently and entered 6 finals. The players who entered the finals were Vu Thi Thom (54kg), Nguyen Thi Bich (57kg), Truong Ha Vy (70kg) of the youth championship and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran (50kg), Song Thi Kim Ngan (52kg), Ngo Thi Mai Chuc (54kg) of the U22 championship.

In the final match of the U22 women's 50kg category, boxer Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran won against her opponent from Kazakhstan Gulnar Turapbay in both rounds, bringing home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese delegation at this tournament. This is also the first Asian gold medal in her boxing career. Immediately after, boxer Song Thi Kim Ngan (52kg) convincingly defeated her opponent Myrzakul Tomiris (Kazakhstan) to win the championship for the first time in Asia. At the end of the competition, the Vietnamese delegation achieved 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.

Sharing about the achievements of the athletes at the tournament, Coach of the Vietnamese boxing team Nguyen Nhu Cuong said that this is one of the times that Vietnamese young boxers have reached the most finals when participating in the Asian youth championship. The players from countries and territories competing in the Asian youth tournament are always potential athletes. They are sent by their countries to participate in the main tournament to accumulate and grasp more expertise. We also hope that from this tournament, many young Vietnamese athletes will be more confident in the international arena.
