On the morning of December 17, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Truc, Chairman of Yen Bai City People's Committee (Yen Bai province) said that by December 31, all activities of leveling and handling landslides in the city will be completed.

"Immediately after that, the city will have a general cleaning and urban beautification campaign so that people can enjoy the spring and welcome the Lunar New Year 2025," Mr. Truc affirmed.

In addition, to minimize the risk of accidents and traffic jams caused by soil-carrying trucks, traffic police have increased inspections and handled violations on key routes in the city.

At the same time, construction units are required not to transport soil during the following time frames: Morning from 6:30 - 8:00, noon from 11:00 - 12:45, afternoon from 16:30 - 18:00 to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles.

According to statistics from Yen Bai province, after storm No. 3 in September, Yen Bai city had more than 1,000 households affected by landslides with over 1 million cubic meters of soil and rock needing to be treated.

Yen Bai City has allowed villages, residential groups and people to proactively overcome landslides and clear landslides to ensure safety of life, property and stabilize life.

Since the end of September, the excavation and transportation of soil has caused pollution due to dust. Notably, during the transportation process, soil and rocks have been scattered on the road.
