Hanoi City delegation offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs in Cam Ranh

On May 7, within the framework of a working trip to visit and encourage cadres, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform, the Hanoi City delegation led by Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee Hoang Trong Quyet offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Gac Ma soldiers' memorial site in Cam Hai Dong commune (Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province).

The memorial is a place to commemorate 64 Vietnamese People's Navy soldiers who heroically sacrificed their lives and remained forever at sea on March 14, 1988, in the battle on Gac Ma Island, in the Truong Sa archipelago.

The Hanoi delegation held a ceremony to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs, outstanding naval officers and soldiers who devoted their youth; fought bravely and sacrificed to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Next, the delegation offered incense to commemorate the heroes and martyrs at the Cam Ranh political prisoners' monument. Here, from 1952-1954, the French colonialists imprisoned more than 6,000 revolutionary soldiers and killed more than 100 comrades who fought for the country's independence and freedom.

Although the French colonialists used many cruel torture methods, the comrades were always steadfast, maintained their fighting spirit, upheld their steadfast and indomitable spirit before the enemy, and were ready to accept sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, embellishing the patriotic tradition of the Vietnamese people.

At the Memorial, Head of the Hanoi City delegation Hoang Trong Quyet offered incense to commemorate the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people.
