'Nuoc Son Van Dau' recreates the life and revolutionary career of Uncle Ho

On the morning of May 17, 2025, at the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, the launching ceremony of the epic novel series "Nuoc son van dam", consisting of 5 volumes by writer Nguyen The Ky, took place.

President Ho Chi Minh is a source of inspiration and an everlasting topic for writers, poets, journalists, and artists in many forms of journalism, literature, and art. In the field of literature, in the genre of novels, there are not many works written about President Ho Chi Minh so far. The most successful writer on this topic is Son Tung with “Blue Lotus”, “Golden Lotus”, “Party on Ben Nha Rong”…; writer Ho Phuong with “Father and Son”; Hoang Quang Uyen with the 3-volume novel series: “Looking Away to the Old Country”, “Pac Bo Sun”, “Liberation”; Nguyen The Quang with “Songs of the Rivers”…

In 2022, writer Nguyen The Ky, after many years of contemplation, accumulating documents, historical materials and conducting research trips at home and abroad, wrote in parallel a long novel and an artistic epic of the same name "Nuoc son van dam".

The epic art series has completed part I "Debt to the country" in a 5-part script collection.

The epic novel series “Nuoc son van dam” consists of 5 volumes: “Nuoc son” (Debt to the country) in 2022; “Lênh wat bien” (Drifting four seas) in 2023; “Tu Viet Bac ve Ha Noi” (From Viet Bac to Ha Noi) in 2024, “Duong lenh Dien Bien” and “Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh” in 2025.

The novel “Nuoc non van dam” by writer Nguyen The Ky depicted the image of Ho Chi Minh from the cultural, patriotic, revolutionary traditions of the homeland and the nation combined with the cultural and revolutionary quintessence of the times to reach the heights of humanity: Patriotism has profound humanistic content; National liberation goes hand in hand with class liberation, social liberation, and human liberation; Praising people as the decisive factor of history; Genuine national and democratic revolution inevitably develops into socialist revolution; National strength is always associated with the strength of the times. He especially respected the people, praised “People are the root”, “the Master” of the revolution, of the country, and the creator of history. The ideology of patriotism, love for the people, and respect for people; the truth “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom”; pure and noble morality, ready to sacrifice for a great cause; simple, close, modest, honest style... All of these are valuable ideological and cultural heritages that he left for the country, for the people and for all of humanity.

Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, commented that “Nuoc non van dam” is a great novel about President Ho Chi Minh. The novel has succeeded in building a portrait of a person who created a path and a history of the nation, that is Ho Chi Minh.
