On the afternoon of April 9, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province Nguyen Duc Dung and his delegation visited and wished a happy Bunpimay New Year in Champasak province and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pac Se city, Champasak province.
The delegation included Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Nguyen Manh Ha and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan.
Receiving the delegation, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee, Xay Thong Xay Nga Vong, said that in recent years, the socio -economic development situation of Laos has faced many difficulties and challenges. However, under the direction and guidance of the Party and the Government, along with the efforts of the locality, in 2024 Champasak grew by more than 6%. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee, Xay Thong Xay Nga Vong sincerely thanked Quang Nam for the noble sentiments that Quang Nam has given to the cadres and people of Champasak over the years.
Wishing the traditional Lao New Year, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam Province Nguyen Duc Dung affirmed: Bunpimay is an occasion for every Lao citizen to turn to their roots, show gratitude to their ancestors, cherish traditional cultural values and solidarity among ethnic groups. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung sent to all cadres, soldiers and people of Champasak province a joyful and warm new year and wished Champasak province to continue to gain many new victories in the coming time.
Previously, the Quang Nam Provincial Delegation visited and wished Bunpimay a Happy New Year to the staff of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pac Se. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung said that the twinning relationship between Quang Nam and Se Koong province and the signing of friendly cooperation agreements with Champasak and Attapeu provinces were seriously implemented and achieved many important results. Quang Nam and the southern Lao provinces are proud to be close neighbors, sharing the majestic Truong Son mountain range. Throughout history, the people of the two sides have stood side by side, shared the joys and sorrows, and built a special friendship that is "forever green, forever sustainable". Memorandums of understanding, cooperation projects in economics,education , health, or cultural exchange activities between the two sides have become and are becoming a solid bridge, tightening the affection between the people of the two countries.
Ms. Ta Phuong Dung, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse, said that currently, in the four provinces of Southern Laos, there are more than 15,000 Vietnamese people living, working and investing, including about 95 enterprises. In recent times, Quang Nam as well as other provinces in the region have actively supported localities in Southern Laos to promote trade, education and training, and social security activities.
Informing about the general situation in the localities, Consul General Ta Phuong Dung suggested that Quang Nam continue to effectively maintain cooperation programs, consider supporting the construction of community learning centers, equipment for Vietnamese language centers, friendship schools between the four southern provinces of Laos and the provinces and cities of Vietnam, especially the economic cooperation between the two sides.
