This year's contest gathered 116 contestants who are students from primary, secondary and high schools in districts, towns and cities. These are typical faces who have passed many selection rounds and district-level contests to participate in the provincial contest.
Candidates will compete at 2 locations: Quang Nam University and Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted (Tam Ky). The contest contents include: Programming skills for primary, secondary and high school students of non-specialized programs (individual competition); Programming skills for high school students of specialized programs (team competition, each team has a maximum of 2 members).
In addition, students of all grades also participate in creative product competitions (software, hardware or integrated products). Each team has a maximum of 2 members, and the products submitted have never won awards in national or international competitions.
In his opening speech, Mr. Le Kim Thuong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said that in the era of digital transformation, information technology is not only a supporting tool but has become the foundation for the development of all areas of social life.
In particular, Resolution No. 57, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo, identifies the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as decisive factors for the development of countries; as a prerequisite and the best opportunity for our country to develop richly and powerfully in the new era of development - the era of national growth.
Therefore, continuing to discover, nurture and develop young talents in the field of information technology is an important, urgent and strategic task.
Mr. Le Kim Thuong emphasized that the Quang Nam Youth Informatics Competition is held annually, and is a place to gather talents, innovative ideas, and creativity of generations of students across the province.
This is not only a useful intellectual playground for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, but also an opportunity to exchange, learn, broaden their horizons and foster their passion for science and information technology.
The contest will select outstanding candidates to participate in the Regional Qualifying Round of the National Youth Informatics Contest scheduled to take place in June 2025 in Da Nang City.
