At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, informed about some outstanding results in implementing the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector, shifting agricultural production towards commodity production and applying high technology, improving productivity and product quality; applying science and technology in the production of seasonal and off-season fruit trees; linking the development of raw material areas to serve agricultural processing factories; promoting deep processing of agricultural products and fruit trees of Son La province. Currently, the total crop area of the whole province is 334,294 hectares, including: More than 212,000 hectares of annual crops; 122,294 hectares of industrial crops and perennial fruit trees. Of which, over 31,660 hectares are produced according to safety and equivalent standards. The whole province is maintaining and managing 218 codes of growing areas for mango, longan, banana, plum, macadamia, dragon fruit, and passion fruit for export; Maintained 8 agricultural product packaging facility codes; 31 agricultural products in the province were granted protection certificates; developed 214 OCOP products, including 1 5-star OCOP product. In the province, there are 9 large-scale coffee processing facilities; more than 20 tea processing enterprises and cooperatives; 1 sugar factory; 2 cassava processing factories; 4 vegetable and fruit processing factories; 1 cow's milk processing factory. By the end of October, the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector was estimated to reach over 5,548 billion VND, up 7.98% over the same period last year, contributing 1.61 percentage points to the province's overall growth.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province, said that Tuyen Quang and Son La provinces have many similarities in the potential for fruit tree development, however, in agricultural development, Tuyen Quang province has not promoted the application of science and technology, attracting enterprises to deeply process agricultural products. He hopes that Son La province will actively support the transfer of science and technology and guide Tuyen Quang farmers to apply high technology in cultivating and caring for fruit trees. Promote cooperation between the two provinces in developing agricultural production, processing industry and trade promotion activities for product consumption. At the same time, Tuyen Quang also hopes to share experiences on safe production processes as well as ways to bring agricultural products into the supermarket system and reputable supply chains.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and branches of the two provinces also shared experiences on policies and institutions to build Son La province to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming the Center for High-Tech Agricultural Development of the Northwest region; perfecting institutions and policies to attract investment and support high-tech agricultural development credit; planning concentrated production areas associated with deep processing and applying science and technology to increase the value of agricultural products. Training and attracting specialized human resources in the field of information technology, smart IoT sensor technology connected to the Internet to collect data on the physical environment, then transmitting and analyzing this data to monitor, control and optimize processes, greenhouse technology, membrane house, biotechnology, crop management, traceability; trade promotion activities, finding domestic and foreign partners...
