Veterans of Battalion 24, Division 5, Military Region 7 revisit the old battlefield

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 / April 30, 2025), on March 21, a delegation of veterans of Battalion 24 (12.7mm Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun Battalion), Division 5, Military Region 7 organized a visit to the old border battlefield in Vinh Hung district, Long An province.

The veterans came to offer flowers and incense at the Monument of heroic martyrs at the Tan Hung - Vinh Hung inter-district martyrs cemetery, visited the Long Khot martyrs temple, and visited the National historical site of Long Khot garrison area.

At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Vinh Hung District People's Committee, informed the veterans about the achievements in building and developing Vinh Hung District in recent years, in which he especially appreciated the contributions of comrades and teammates from different hometowns who fought side by side in this land. At the same time, he hoped that the veterans would continue to promote the traditional qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, contributing their strength and intelligence with the Party Committee, government and people to build the locality to become more and more prosperous and civilized.

The members of the delegation felt excited about the innovation and development of Vinh Hung homeland and hoped that the district would continue to achieve many achievements, especially in terms of economy, political security would be maintained and people's lives would be increasingly developed.
