At the meeting, the two sides informed and exchanged the general situation of the two cities in recent times, regarding tourism development and cultural heritage conservation. At the same time, they agreed to assign relevant agencies to develop specific programs and plans to implement the contents of the signed memorandum of understanding. Thereby promoting friendly cooperation between the two cities and contributing to tightening the special relationship between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam.

On this occasion, the delegation from Luang Prabang City visited and learned about Hoi An ancient town.

Previously, on October 17, 2024, in the capital Vientiane (Laos), representatives of the leaders of Hoi An City and Luang Prabang City signed a memorandum of understanding to establish friendly cooperation relations.

Accordingly, the two sides will cooperate, support and help each other in areas of strength, especially tourism; share experiences in management, restoration, conservation and promotion of heritage values.
