VFF delegation attends the 75th FIFA Congress

Attending the congress with Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan were Vice Chairman Tran Anh Tu and Deputy Secretary General Dinh Thi Thu Trang.

Within the framework of the sideline activities of the Congress, President Tran Quoc Tuan had a series of important meetings with leaders of many of the world's leading football federations, aiming to promote strategic cooperation programs.

Notable among them was the meeting with Mr. Frank Paauw - the new President of the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) and General Secretary Gijs de Jong. At the meeting, President Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated the new leader of the KNVB and expressed his desire to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two federations, especially in the field of youth and women's football development. The KNVB expressed its goodwill, affirming that it will study and promote specific cooperation programs with the VFF in the coming time.

VFF leaders also met with the President of the Ukrainian Football Federation - football legend Andriy Shevchenko. The exchange opened up many possibilities for cooperation in youth training and professional exchange.

Notably, President Tran Quoc Tuan had an important meeting with President of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Mr. Ednaldo Rodrigues. The two sides discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2025, within the framework of the State visit of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to Vietnam. Accordingly, the two federations will strengthen cooperation in training coaches, organizing friendly matches, sharing experts, and especially supporting youth and women's teams. The Memorandum also includes cooperation in sports medicine, injury rehabilitation and improving professional football management capacity.

The 75th FIFA Congress, attended by more than 200 member associations, marked the 100th anniversary of Paraguay's accession to FIFA. This congress focused on many important issues, including the adoption of a new Disciplinary Code to strictly handle acts of racism and violence in football. At the same time, new regulations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup were also adopted to ensure fairness and transparency in the organization.

In particular, on the occasion of FIFA’s 120th anniversary, a special exhibition was held in Asunción, displaying many iconic football artifacts such as the Jules Rimet Trophy, the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Copa America. This is not only a historic event but also a strong inspiration for the next generations of football lovers around the world.
