Attending the workshop were representatives of management agencies, experts and many businesses in the Central region interested in the Halal market (the totality of industries serving the needs of Muslim consumers such as Halal food and beverage, Halal pharmaceuticals, Halal cosmetics, fashion and art, Islamic digital economy , healthcare and medicine, Muslim-friendly tourism...)

At the workshop, experts updated Halal technical standards for the food service and food processing industry, with special emphasis on ingredients, processing, hygiene, packaging, and service...

At the same time, we also share about the culinary culture and customs of Muslims to help businesses, especially those targeting the Halal market, understand and meet the right requirements.

At the workshop, a representative of the Technical Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality 2 (General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality, Ministry of Science and Technology ) said that the global Halal product and service market is growing strongly on a very large scale. The Halal product consumption market is distributed throughout the world, from Muslim to non-Muslim countries, from developed to developing economies.

According to the Global Islamic Economy 2023 report, the global Halal market is forecast to reach more than 2,800 billion USD by 2025 and continue to grow strongly, covering many fields: food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, finance, tourism and fashion, with about more than 2 billion Muslims in the world, accounting for 1/4 of the global population.

However, currently our country only has about 20 export products that meet Halal standards, a very modest number compared to the potential.

"The workshop is a valuable opportunity for us to update information, share experiences and propose solutions to develop the Halal industry sustainably, especially in the Central region such as Da Nang and Quang Nam" - the leader of the Center for Technical Standards, Measurement and Quality 2 emphasized.

In Quang Nam and Da Nang, Halal is one of the large potential markets that the local tourism industry is actively promoting and exploiting. Some countries with large Muslim populations that the tourism industry of the two localities is welcoming are: India, Malaysia, Indonesia... In addition, there are tens of thousands of visitors from other Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran...

In Da Nang City alone, it is estimated that there are 16 tourist areas/destinations, meeting the needs of many tourist segments, including Muslim tourists.

From June 2025, Emirates airline will officially operate the Dubai - Bangkok - Da Nang route, opening up opportunities to access the tourist market from the UAE, the Middle East and connecting countries from Europe and the US.

In addition, from April to October 2025, charter flights from Kazakhstan (Astana & Almaty) to Da Nang will also be put into operation. These are emerging markets with a high proportion of Muslims and strong growth potential in the future.
