Uong Bi businesses accelerate from the beginning of the year

After overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 Yagi (September 2024), many businesses in Uong Bi have promptly consolidated their resources, thereby firmly entering production and business in 2025. The results up to this point are quite positive, including the movement of tourism , mechanical and heavy industry businesses.

Based on the characteristics of the tourism service operator in Yen Tu, since the beginning of January 2025, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company has deployed personnel to welcome tourists on pilgrimage and spring tour to Yen Tu. During the Lunar New Year of At Ty alone, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company welcomed nearly 70,000 people, bringing the total number of tourists to Yen Tu since the beginning of January to nearly 200,000, with revenue of nearly 8 billion VND. According to Mr. Le Trong Thanh, Deputy General Director of Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company, the above results have contributed to helping Uong Bi confidently set a target of welcoming 3.2 million visitors across the city, including 90,000 international visitors, achieving total tourism revenue of over 1,760 billion VND, of which Yen Tu alone set a target of welcoming nearly 1 million visitors.

Together with Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company, coal, cement and electricity production enterprises have started production right from the beginning of the year. In 2025, Uong Bi Thermal Power Company was temporarily assigned an electricity output of 4,203 million kWh, of which the planned output for the 6 months of the dry season is 2,282 million kWh. To meet this target, since the beginning of January 2025, Uong Bi Thermal Power Company has implemented a plan to prepare fuel, materials and equipment for production. As of February 19, 2025, the Company's electricity output reached over 400 million kWh, reaching 15% of the annual plan, equal to 20% of the dry season output plan.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Director of Uong Bi Thermal Power Company, said: The Company has prepared the volume of coal and oil for electricity production in 2025, which is 1.96 million tons of coal and 837,065 liters of oil, ensuring the volume and quality for production and inventory in accordance with regulations. Regarding chemicals, the Company has achieved sufficient output until May 20, 2025, and at the same time prepared 103 tons of steel balls in inventory, 3,400 tons of limestone in inventory and replacement equipment for regular repairs.

At Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, in 2025, the unit set a production target of nearly 4.2 million tons. In January 2025, the unit achieved clean coal production of 312,000 tons, new tunnel excavation of 2,900m, coal consumption of 260,000 tons, revenue of 483 billion VND, average salary of 23.5 million VND/person/month.

In the general atmosphere, in the past 2 months, Da Bac Logistics Company - Vinacomin has promoted production stages. Previously, in early February, the Company organized periodic occupational safety and hygiene training for employees in group 4 according to Decree 44/2016/ND-CP of the Government . Mr. Vo Khac Nghiem, Director of Da Bac Logistics Company - Vinacomin, said that the occupational safety and hygiene training in the first days of this year aims to help employees in the Company understand and master the regulations on occupational safety and hygiene, thereby raising awareness of strict requirements on occupational safety and hygiene; at the same time, eliminating and minimizing the unfortunate risks that can cause accidents and injuries during the work process, contributing to helping employees feel secure in their work and improving productivity and work efficiency, helping the Company develop sustainably and safely.

It is noteworthy that in the past 2 months, many Uong Bi enterprises have carried out activities to care for and encourage employees to enthusiastically produce, improve productivity, output and value of the unit. For example, on February 19, Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited organized the first flu vaccination for nearly 200 officers and employees of the Cruise Division (Grand Pioneers 1 & Grand Pioneers 2). It is known that, due to the nature of their work, officers and employees of the Company's Cruise Division often come into contact with domestic and foreign customers, leading to a high risk of being infected with influenza strains during work. This is an annual activity in the health care program for officers and employees, contributing to improving the effectiveness of disease prevention and health protection; at the same time, ensuring the goal of developing sustainable, highly safe services, associated with responsible tourism for tourists and partners of the Company. Along with that, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day February 27 (1955-2025), Quang Ninh Cement and Construction Joint Stock Company organized a donation of medical equipment (including 4 oxygen generators) to the Medical Stations of Phuong Nam, Phuong Dong and Trung Vuong wards, Uong Bi city, with a total value of 100 million VND...
