On April 11, at the Lac Thanh Communal House, Temple, and Pagoda relic, Yen Thanh Ward, Uong Bi City, the opening ceremony of the Lac Thanh Communal House - Pagoda Festival 2025 took place.
The main festival of Lac Thanh Communal House - Pagoda is held on 14th and 15th of the third lunar month every year with solemn rituals imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity such as: Announcement ceremony, welcoming Thanh Hoang from the communal houses to the communal house; Naturalization ceremony; Anointing ceremony; Offering ceremony to Thanh Hoang; Entering the village ceremony; Sending off the gods... The above rituals demonstrate the traditional morality of drinking water and remembering its source and the people's desire for a peaceful and prosperous life.
Lac Thanh Communal House was built around the 17th century. The Communal House worships 12 tutelary gods, including 2 human gods and 10 angels. Through the changes of time and many renovations, the architecture of the communal house now bears the mark of the Nguyen Dynasty. Lac Thanh Pagoda is located next to the communal house, forming the Lac Thanh Communal House - Pagoda relic complex, located in an area of 2,000m2. In 2012, after 65 years of interruption, the Lac Thanh Communal House - Pagoda Festival was successfully restored by Uong Bi City and was honored to receive a Certificate of recognition as a provincial historical relic.
