Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh held a bilateral meeting with Yunnan Provincial Party Secretary Vuong Ninh.

On the afternoon of October 29, in Lai Chau province, Comrade Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, had a bilateral meeting with Comrade Wang Ning, member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, on the occasion of the two sides attending the 5th Annual Conference between Secretaries of Provincial Party Committees of Vietnam and China.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs ; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the two provinces of Yunnan and Tuyen Quang.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh expressed his pleasure to meet and discuss with Mr. Vuong Ninh. He emphasized: After merging Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang , the new province has a lot of potential for cooperation with Yunnan, especially in the fields of border gate economy, border trade, labor, agriculture and people-to-people exchange. With a 277 km long border with Yunnan and Guangxi, Tuyen Quang identified cooperation with Chinese localities as a strategic direction to develop border economy, ensure national defense and security and promote friendship between the two peoples.

Secretary Hau A Lenh informed that in recent times, cooperation between the two sides has achieved many outstanding results: import and export turnover through border gates in the area reached 797 million USD in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of nearly 88% over the same period; more than 17,000 Tuyen Quang workers are working stably in Yunnan; many agricultural , medical and educational cooperation projects have been effectively implemented.

To continue deepening the friendly relationship, Comrade Hau A Lenh proposed key groups of contents to bring the cooperative relationship between the two provinces to a new level, including: continuing to thoroughly grasp the common perception between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the two States; enhancing delegation exchanges and exchanges in the "Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025"; synchronously developing infrastructure of border gates and border openings; expanding labor cooperation; promoting links in human resource training, technology transfer, digital transformation, agriculture, tourism, trade...

He believes that with high determination and joint efforts, cooperation between Tuyen Quang and Yunnan will continue to be implemented effectively, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vuong Ninh, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements that Tuyen Quang province has achieved after the merger, especially the stability in socio-economics, people's lives and expansion of international cooperation. He affirmed that Yunnan province always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and cooperation with Tuyen Quang, considering this one of the localities with great potential to expand cooperation with the Northeast region of Vietnam. Secretary Vuong Ninh highly appreciated the cooperation contents raised by Secretary Hau A Lenh, and emphasized that the two provinces have many similarities in natural conditions, agricultural potential, tourism, young human resources and convenient border gate connection system. Yunnan wishes to work with Tuyen Quang to strengthen infrastructure connection, improve the efficiency of customs clearance trade between Thien Bao Border Gate (Thanh Thuy), labor cooperation, cultural exchange, education and training. Regarding the tourism sector, which has great potential, he hopes that in the coming time, the two sides need to strengthen cooperation to exploit the potential in this field.

The talks between Comrade Hau A Lenh, Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee and Comrade Vuong Ninh, Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee (China) are important foreign affairs activities, not only deepening the traditional friendship between the two provinces, but also opening up new directions of substantive cooperation, especially in the fields of border economy, trade, labor, agriculture, cultural and people-to-people exchange and border management, realizing the spirit of "friendly neighborliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, looking towards the future" between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and China.
