At the conference, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee Ha Van Cat said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of localities organized and launched the "Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign on the occasion of Tet and the Spring Festival", promoted "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day - April 7", "Campaign for Red Summer Blood Drops"; coordinated with local agencies, departments, and organizations to mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, youth, and soldiers in the armed forces to participate. By September 30, 2025, the Provincial Central General Hospital had received 19,555 units of blood, reaching 79.84% of the 2025 target.

In addition, the coordination of activities between member agencies, especially the standing agencies of the Steering Committee (Red Cross, health sector, youth union) is carried out regularly and effectively. The work of honoring and rewarding individuals, groups and families with achievements in humanitarian blood donation and mobilizing humanitarian blood donation is also focused on and more than 1,000 cases have been honored and rewarded promptly.

At the conference, members of the Steering Committee focused on discussing and giving opinions on the Steering Committee's operating regulations; assigning tasks to members of the Steering Committee; and the Plan to mobilize voluntary blood donation to save lives in Gia Lai province in 2026. At the same time, they proposed solutions to effectively mobilize people to participate in voluntary blood donation to ensure there is enough safe and quality blood to serve the needs of treatment and emergency in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich emphasized: To ensure enough blood for the treatment and care needs of patients in the province, the work of mobilizing voluntary blood donation must be carried out practically and effectively.

Steering Committee members must perform assigned tasks with the highest sense of responsibility.

The Steering Committee needs to promptly carry out emulation and reward work for individuals and organizations with achievements in the work of mobilizing voluntary blood donation; honoring voluntary blood donors. Checking, monitoring, and urging the implementation of the targets of the plan to mobilize and collect blood in the province. Supporting localities to organize extensive propaganda about the role, significance and importance of blood donation to save lives to create interest and strong response from the whole society; supplementing blood reserves, spreading the spirit of humanity and community responsibility among cadres, union members and local people. At the same time, widely informing about the benefits that blood donors enjoy (being screened, screened and consulted about abnormal findings, having access to blood sources when needed...); communicating about health care for blood donors. Propaganda work must be practical, avoiding formalities.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich also requested that the assignment of blood donation targets to localities should be based on many factors, especially the ability to collect blood and the need for blood in the area. Based on the assigned planning targets, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, concentrated blood donation units and communes and wards need to proactively develop plans to organize voluntary blood donations according to the schedule; based on the province's targets, implement the assignment of specific targets to departments, branches, units and establishments.

The Department of Health directs hospitals to conduct clinical examinations, receive blood, screen, store and ensure blood safety to ensure the health of donors and the quality of blood for recipients; promptly resolve policies for voluntary blood donors according to regulations of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health; support medical centers to organize blood reception and blood safety. Along with that, the Department of Health focuses on directing investment in upgrading equipment for receiving, screening and storing blood in the province.

The Department of Finance shall inspect, synthesize and submit to competent authorities according to the provisions of the State Budget Law and guiding documents to implement the task of mobilizing voluntary blood donation to ensure efficiency and savings; at the same time, research and propose specific mechanisms for some localities in the province./.
