(To Quoc) - Every year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, young people in Cao Ha village (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi ) organize lion dances, enlivening the atmosphere and preserving the traditional culture of the village. The lion dance troupe consists of about 15 people, parading throughout the village, performing the dance and breathing fire for the villagers and children to watch.

Every year, on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, children in Cao Ha village (Duc Giang commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi) join their friends in a lantern parade around the village. This is the most anticipated activity for families in the village, because besides strengthening community bonds, it also helps children remember the cultural traditions of the past.

Here, there is a lion dance troupe consisting of dozens of members, all from the village, who practice on their own to perform for the children, giving them a joyful and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.

Besides lion dances, the fire-breathing performances are one of the most enjoyable activities during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

To perform flawlessly, the lion dance troupe gathered and practiced for many days beforehand.

The most difficult part was the breathing technique, including holding and spraying the oil, which required the team members to practice diligently for many days.

According to many villagers, the lion dance troupe has existed since the 70s and 80s generations and has gradually become a unique cultural feature of the village.

For many years, Cao Ha village has preserved its traditional beauty every full moon night of the eighth lunar month with many fun activities such as lantern processions, moon gazing, feasting, lion dances, and fire-breathing performances.

To ensure safety and a polished performance, the team members practice spraying water before spraying oil and blowing fire. The members train diligently and perform with a sense of self-discipline, hoping to provide the villagers with a spectacular show.

Lion dance and fire-breathing are annual activities and special performances aimed at creating beautiful memories of the Mid-Autumn Festival for the children in the village, and reminding adults of the old culture and traditions.

A joyful and cheerful atmosphere permeates the villages and hamlets; everyone is eagerly anticipating the Mid-Autumn Festival.
