Every time Tet comes, Spring comes, families often choose flower pots and ornamental plants to decorate their houses. In Hoa Binh City, many flower and ornamental plant shops are bustling with visitors and shoppers. Most gardeners and shops proactively import 3-4 times more goods than usual to serve the needs of the people.

At Giap Thuy garden house, An Duong Vuong street, Thai Binh ward (Hoa Binh city), near Tet, there are always many customers coming in and out to see and buy flowers and ornamental plants. Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, the garden owner, said: To meet the needs of people playing with flowers during Tet, the shop imported more flowers and ornamental plants from the end of the 11th lunar month with flowers that tend to be bright in color, durable, long-lasting and small flowers and ornamental plants that can be placed on the table, hung down, suitable for families with limited space such as: azaleas, orchids, poinsettias, primroses, chrysanthemums... and many types of ornamental plants according to the owner's destiny and age such as: silver needle, money tree, rich and noble, silver jade... The main source of goods is imported from Van Giang district, Hung Yen province. The prices of flowers do not fluctuate much, from more than 100,000 VND/plant to several million VND/plant.

At Hoa Binh Square, Quynh Lam Ward (Hoa Binh City), due to the prolonged cold spell, it was not until around December 20 that many stalls sold orchids, peach blossoms, kumquat trees, etc. Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc, the owner of a stall, said: This year, I mainly sell Nhat Chi Mai trees. This is a rare flower that usually only appeared during Tet in wealthy families in the past. Nhat Chi Mai can also create beautiful three-leaf, curved, and straight shapes, so in recent years, many families have chosen this type of tree. The selling price of each tree is from 700,000 VND to several million VND.

In addition, peach blossoms, peach blossoms, kumquat trees, and yellow apricot trees with various designs and prices are also sold at Hoa Binh Square, markets, gardens, and shops in Hoa Binh City. Walking through the stalls, you can see that peach trees grafted, shaped, and modeled as bonsai, and kumquat bonsai are still the preferred choice of many consumers. With just over 100,000 VND, customers can buy kumquat pots and small peach branches to decorate their homes. To meet the diverse needs of consumers, some gardens have a service of renting ornamental trees for Tet and taking care of the trees for a year, so that they can be brought home for decoration during Tet.

In recent years, people's flower-playing trend has not only stopped at traditional types such as apricot, peach, and kumquat, but also paid attention to high-value flowers such as Phalaenopsis orchids, Peony flowers, or feng shui plants such as Kim Ngan, Kim Tien, etc. In particular, Phalaenopsis orchids are a popular flower during Tet, symbolizing beauty, wealth, prosperity, luck, and long-lasting flowers. Ms. Le Hue Van, Tan Thinh ward (Hoa Binh city) said: Along with the bonsai kumquat tree, this year my family bought an additional pot of Phalaenopsis orchids to display on Tet. The price of this type of flower is higher than many other types of flowers, but it is beautiful and durable, so my family still chooses to buy it.
